"It is a truly 5 star hotel - great room, amenities, and service. I tried all onsen facilities - the private one on our balcony, and two public ones with stunning views. Both kaiseki dinner and buffet breakfast were great. Cold drinks, coffee and ice cream were all free in the lobby. The only small issue was to the transportation. There are a couple of buses if you can do that, but getting a taxi out of the hotel was not easy. Luckily we had Go taxi app. It is 15 min walk from the open air museum. We enjoyed the walk and the museum."

"Unparalleled hospitality at this small onsen ryokan. The staff was beyond helpful in preparing for our trip, with thorough explanation regarding arrival and excellent communication. They were super flexible about holding bags before check in and after check out while we explored. The inn is a little tucked away from main restaurants and shops but taxi was easy and cheap and we could walk to the really delightful gora garden and craft house. They prepared a delicious multi course dinner accommodating a food allergy to gluten, a vegetarian, and teen dietary preferences and an interesting and generous traditional breakfast for our family. The dinner was the best meal we had in two weeks in Japan! The onsen facilities were so clean and it was a delightful experience. It was easy to sign up for private time for our group in both the evening and morning in both the indoor and outdoor onsen. Beds were really comfortable (best in our two weeks!) with nice in room amenities including flower tea. This was such a wonderful experience. We would feel fortunate to return!"

"A beautiful property on Lake Ashinoko with stunning views of Mt Fuji. Extremely close to the rope-way that takes you up to the shrine on the mountain with even more breathtaking views. Lovely rooms, helpful staff. Dining options are limited to the hotel as it is too remote to get anywhere else. Nice outdoor onsen"

"The breakfast buffet and massage was amazing!!! Highly recommended. There is a personal and share hotspring bath but they were indoors. There is a heated foot bath outdoors near the firepit which was nice "
