"Un lieu splendide pour rencontrer d’autres voyageurs et se reposer. Ce qui rend ce lieu encore plus mémorable est Papa & Mama qui sont toujours là pour vous avec beaucoup d’attention. "Very clean. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast is some sweet bread. They set out options for pillows from you to choose from. It's a healthy walking distance from Kyoto station with light luggage and the the Nishiki Market area but far enough that it's quiet. Front desk staff was nice. The kitchen and common area downstairs are clean and fine. There is one washer and one dryer and a clothesline on the roof. "This is an extremely well-priced option for a stay in Kyoto, in an accessible but quiet part of the city that is still close enough to be convenient, but far away from the maddening crowds. Great hostel facilities, clean, spacious, comfortable, with all the necessities well looked after, and completely functional. The guests were all very respectable and there are no unnecessary frills. "The atmosphere was great, the staff was extremely kind and accommodating of a few extra questions I had, and the location was beautiful. Just helped make an already great trip even better. Plus the beds were the most comfortable I’ve had in a hostel so far!"

"I’ve traveled all over Japan and this my worst stop. The staff is cordial enough, but it goes down from there… first, they charge you for everything from towels to ear plugs to toothbrushes. This was off-putting to say the least. Next, the sleeping area is filthy with the entrance filled with smelly shoes, bags scattered all over the floor, trash not emptied timely.
