"Beyond my expectations. Ryokans are always going to be older but they kept this place in wonderful shape and it’s super clean. I was blown away by the library lounge — definitely the highlight of the ryokan. Kaiseki dinner was amazing and the staff were superb."

"We loved our stay here! Definitely want to return to stay at this onsen. We were greeted at check in with a sweet gift for our honeymoon it was so thoughtful! We loved arashiyama and the convenience of how walkable our hotel was to both stations and the town. The beds are so comfortable the room we stayed in was spacious. "I usually don't review stays, but i had to for this Ryokan Yamazaki! The property is clean, quiet, beautiful and peaceful. Above all, the service we received was outstanding. The staff are very kind and patient. They were very understanding with foreigners as well, and explained everything we needed. I was very sick to my stomach when i arrived, due to motion sickness. My husband went to ask for directions to a pharmacy, and the staff drove him there personally and helped him pick out medicine!...

First, location wise it was right in the heart of Dontonburi so if you’re there to see sights, then it is absolutely walkable (you’ll be right in the thick of the crowds and bustling energy of Osaka). "The charm of the old ryokan feel and style was so beautiful and quaint! My daughters loved it as their favorite place to stay. The staff was superb! We felt as if the staff and place was like visiting a relative. Loves the library upstairs and the breakfast being offered in our room. Food was superb! Area was so nice to walk everywhere. "Staff went far beyond what we expected. Every single person was always accommodating and helpful. The room was magnificent. In hindsight I think a regular tub would have been enough. The huge ceramic outside tub was beautiful, but being from California and drought conditions I felt guilty filling up the huge tub every night. Nice hotel

"Hotel in the heart of Umeda - easy access to transport and shopping. The hotel is expansive and many people coming and going in the lobby. We enjoyed the location but the lifts were annoying with having to take two separate lifts to get to hotel, then another up to your room. Room was comfortable and clean, we liked the separate toilet from shower. "
