Just Dirty
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Townsend as we always do. The drive up to this cabin was very pretty, and the neighborhood is quiet. The cabin itself seems to be in good repair, and is nicely decorated. First impressions were that the cabin was very dirty. On further inspection we decided to clean everything. I went to the IGA in town and purchased some basic cleaning supplies, and we scrubbed the toilets, sinks, showers, tub, and washed all of the linens. This cabin looked like it had possibly not been cleaned after the last several guests. You should also consider fixing the damaged sheetrock beside the living room TV if the leak has been repaired. Thank you for the free polo shirt that you left beside the bed, it fit my father-in-law and he liked it after we gave it a good wash. Locating the polo shirt was the first hint that the sheets had not been washed. Also, we would have appreciated if the it turned on in advance so that the cabin was not 89 ° on arrival. Thankfully the AC worked properly and after 4 or 5 hours of cleaning and sweating, we had a nice day in our cabin with only half a day wasted. Let us know if you get these issues addressed, and we may consider a return visit because we really did like the location and the cabin

Beautiful area, cabin needs improvements
The cabin is located in a beautiful area, far enough away from town to get that mountain country feel. Drive to the cabin wasn’t too bad, some roads a little narrow and steep. Plenty to do within an hours drive. If you plan to cook, you’ll need to buy everything salt, pepper, oil etc, no basic cooking supplies in the cabin. No directions for where to take trash out. Cleaning needs to be better, the main areas were decently cleaned but needs a good dusting and vacuuming/sweeping of all areas. Game room was ok, had broken and misplaced pieces. Overall for the price, especially cleaning fees and compared to many other VRBO’s we’ve stayed at, it was just ok. If improvements were made, it would be a nice place to stay.

Location was good. Pictures of property accurately showed the property. One issue was that the den had not been cleaned since we easily saw chips under the couch. The other issue was the outside trash bin on the back porch was full of trash. We were thankful that it had a lid. Otherwise it was a great place to stay.

Our Cabin Fever stay.
Everything was pretty good except for communication about where to throw trash out. There wasn’t any locked critter proof trash cans outside. I tried Monday and Wednesday of our stay to find out about the trash situation. Nobody got back to me, but someone came inside while we were gone and took 4 of the bags of trash. We were thankful, but still would have liked any sort of correspondence on the subject. Only other issue was the bathroom sink upstairs was VERY SLOW draining.

Kiley's Spring Break
Had a wonderful time with my 13 year old granddaughter. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were fun. The fire on Wears Valley cut off our access to pigeon Forge. Thursday we went to Tuckaleechee Caverns. The rest of the day just relaxed. Friday morning drove home. I have always loved the mountains.

Pretty good cabin
My husband and I stayed at Cabin Fever for our two year wedding anniversary. It’s a fine cabin for the price. It should be called Ladybug Fever. There were ladybugs dead and alive EVERYWHERE. No matter how many we took outside, more always showed up. I’d rather have ladybugs than any other kind of bug, but it was still a nuisance. Also, it would have been great to have some standard spices or something in the cabinets. There were pots and pans, but if we wanted to cook, we had to buy even simple things like salt and pepper. It was frustrating having to buy an entire shaker for salt and pepper for our week-long trip. There was also no extra paper towels, so we ran out on our third or fourth day, only one extra toilet paper roll, and one extra trash bag. It just seemed like there wasn’t much thought for what guests staying at the cabin might actually need. It was the bare minimum. Again, it’s a fine cabin. It’s mostly clean and very comfortable. It’s pretty affordable. But after the fact, I probably would’ve spent more and stayed somewhere a little nicer.

Perfect for a Visit to the Quiet Side of the Smokies!
This cabin was perfect for our first time to the Smokies. I'm so glad I chose to stay in Townsend which is considered the peaceful side of the Smokies. The cabin was very clean and supplied with everything we needed to make some quick dinners for the kids. I really enjoyed sitting on the elevated back patio. No bugs and very quiet - yet safe from animals. I would recommend this cabin.

Very Nice Cabin in the Mountains
We thought this place was great and clean. We enjoyed our short stay and it was equipped with everything we needed. Even laundry detergent and dish soap was provided. Nice little touches throughout the cabin. Internet access was solid but cable TV choices were very limited. That is the biggest down side. If you want to catch college football games on ESPN there is No ESPN, No FOX News, No Hallmark channel which put my wife in a catatonic state in the evenings! The owner should seriously consider spending a little more and add these stations. Pool table was great fun. Thank heaven we have a large truck with 4 wheel drive. It was needed with the snow and ice. The roads getting to and from the cabin can be dicey in snow conditions. Some blind hills made it exciting and scary at times. We imagine that this cabin would be awesome as well in summer months. Townsend (Very small town) is off the grid and very little to offer for restaurant choices but the local IGA came in handy. The drive in was awesome with great views. Local country shops along the way were fantastic.
