Quaint, Vintage Reno in Manheim

Summary:
The beauty of this mid-century gem has kept the traditional feel with all the modern amenities. This 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath home has been fully renovated with a large kitchen and living area, perfect for a relaxing stay in a large space.

Located just 2 blocks from the Square in Manheim, 10 mins from Spooky Nook, 20 mins from Lancaster, and 35 mins from Hershey, this home is centrally located to help you experience all that Lancaster County and the surrounding area has to offer!

The Space:
Please note: This home is over 150 years old and the 2nd story floors are 100+ year old refinished, original hardwoods. Floors may not be 100% smooth, so slippers/socks may be a comfy option. The 1st floor has new hardwoods. The stairs to the 2nd floor are also more steep than a newer construction home, so please be aware of that.

The property has many issues
The apartment had a lot of issues and problems. First, when we arrived, the door did not have any window shade. There is a window that is not frosted, allowing neighbors to look in, so there is no privacy. Another window next to the neighbor's window also lacks a shade, making it possible to look into the kitchen, which is a significant privacy issue. The cleanliness of the apartment was really bad. Inside the refrigerator was completely uncleaned, with a lot of extra stuff like small dots. On my bed, I found a hair, either from the last tenant or from the cleaning staff, which is really unpleasant. As mentioned, the apartment was not clean, and as a result, I saw a lot of insects, including mosquitoes and other bugs. Some of the beds did not have linens, so I had to take them out of the closet and put them on. Additionally, the apartment is on the main street, so you will hear noises all night. An extra downside is the customer service. I sent them a message but didn't get any reply. On the other hand, it's a nice apartment just like in the pictures. So, if you don't mind it not being perfectly clean, the presence of insects, lack of privacy, and noise from trucks, you will really enjoy it.

Beautiful and comfortable
The house is beautifully decorated with comfortable, attractive furnishings. The location near the street was a bit loud from traffic during the day but really diminished in the evening. The house was located a short drive from the event we attended at the Spooky Nook Sports Complex. We really enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful old house!
Super well located within walking distance of a couple restaurants and shops in town. Plenty of space for a group of 6 adults to spread out, cook breakfast and dinner and play board games. Fair warning, the house is old and creaks and some of the doors will pop open or be difficult to close, but overall it was a very comfortable stay. Highly recommend using the fans and white noise machines provided if the road noise from main st bothers you. The host also provides shampoo, conditioner, hangers, a few laundry pods, etc. which were all super appreciated.

Cute Home, Lots of space, great beds
We really enjoyed staying in this home. Beds were very comfortable (as long as you are good with firm beds) We all slept well. Bed and Bath linens were great. Plenty of pillows. Home is literally on main street so there is quite a bit of traffic around the clock. We all slept well but it was a concern. Bathrooms were beautifully done. The only issue was for our group of 6, we did run out of hot water very quickly and after the first day had to schedule our showers so we could all enjoy hot water. I had to message the host several times and each time was answered promptly. There is a cute little coffee shop a block away that we really enjoyed, Mill 72. It was such a cute place with some amazing baked goods and good coffee. Overall- a great stay in a beautiful, historic home with a great host. Biggest suggestion would be larger water heater. Decor and finishes were very well done. Parking was excellent with reserved spots. Definitely some VERY steep steps but the host does a great job of communicating this in the property description before hand so it was no surprise. We really appreciated that the host honored are request to check out a few hours late to accomodate our flight out of Baltimore.

Beautiful, quaint, tastefully decorated home.
This is a beautiful, quaint, and tastefullly decorated home. We were very comfortable, and the fact that our pup was welcome made this stay possible-thank you! All soaps were provided. The kitchen was spacious. If you plan on doing alot of cooking, you might need to bring along some gadgets/spices and a non stick pan. You will be very happy in this home, we were!
