"Challenging in travelling to the accommodation mainly due to the roadworks and construction, however, upon arrival the welcome we received was first class. The staff were fantastic and accommodating, in particular the owner Heidi who made time to ensure we were comfortable. "I had the misfortune to arrive by bus from Managua on a rainy day. I thus had difficulty in finding the Hostal. When I did, at aout 7 pm, the person at the reception did not even ask to identify me, and I was led to a room with a window giving on the corridor, a small old sink giving only a tiny fillet or water, etc. Only cold water, but that seems to be general in San Juan. I eventually got used to all these "perks"..."
