About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Animal Village/W/Mountain Views

Newly remodeled Manufactured home on 5 acres in the Montana Mountains just outside of Kalispell! You’ll enjoy private use of the entire house during your getaway. Enjoy your coffee while sitting on the private deck in the fresh mountain air while watching the whitetail deer and wild turkeys right there on the property. This property offers scenic beauty and closeness to a variety of activities all year long. From hiking and boating in the summer to snowshoeing and skiing in the winter.

Enter the home into the spacious living room. During the winter, you can enjoy the heat from the wood burning stove while watching your favorite movies or playing one of the many board games we provide. To the left you will find two bedrooms and one full bathroom. The first bedroom contains a queen bed, and the second contains two bunkbeds. The bunkbed room includes a window air conditioning unit for those that decide to stay inside on a hot day. The full bathroom has both, a shower and a bathtub. We provide you with bodywash, shampoo, and conditioner. To the right of the living room, you will find the kitchen, dining area, laundry room, and master bedroom with its own full bathroom. The Master bedroom contains another queen bed and a sofa bed. There is an air conditioning unit and television in the bedroom as well. The bathroom has an extra-large bathtub and a separate shower. The laundry room contains both washer and dryer. We provide the detergent and fabric softener! The kitchen is extremely well stocked with all you will need to prepare your own meals. We include basic spices, coffee, sugar, creamer, and cooking oil. You will find plenty of pots, pans, silverware, cups, wine glasses, and mixing bowls. There is also a microwave, blender, and dishwasher. If there is anything that you need that we did not provide, just let us know and we will bring it over to you, as we are right across the street. The private deck right outside the front door has a gas grill, table and chairs. The perfect way to end your evening after spending the day at Glacier National Park, or at one of the many lakes, rivers, or streams in the area.

The Area

Smith Lake
Only 5 miles away is the small, but plentiful “wetland” Smith Lake. This lake is surrounded by a large wetland and is part of a Montana state wildlife refuge. It is one of the best lakes to catch Northern Pike! If you use steal leads and the right bait, you are almost guaranteed to catch pike and/or perch. This day use fishing access is open year around and does have a boat ramp.

Foy Lake and Lone Pine State Park
Only 10 miles away is Foy Lake and Lone Pine State Park. This lake is just minutes away from Kalispell and stocked with rainbow trout. It allows fishing, swimming, and boating. Lone Pine State Park has 7.5 miles of trails you can hike, snowshoe, bike, and/or ride horseback on.

Glacier National Park
Glacier is only 60 miles away. This is a must see! One of the most beautiful National Parks out there with numerous hiking trails, lakes, waterfalls, and everything wild Montana has to offer. I would recommend reserving your tickets into the park in advance. The last couple years, the park had to limit the amount of people entering into the park.

Wildlife
There are an abundant of different species of wildlife that you can find in the area, including on the property. The species that you are most likely to see on the property include white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, numerous bird and raptor species, and an occasional red fox or skunk. Other extremely rare occasions you may spot elk, moose, a black bear, coyote, or mountain lion. There are many other species that I did not mention that do occur in the area. So always keep your eyes open. You never know if one of these beautiful creatures will bless you with their presents.

Summer Activities
The activities in the summer here in the area are limitless. This includes, but not limited to, hiking, biking, fishing, camping, wildlife viewing, birdwatching, boating, swimming, and multiple national and state parks. There is a historic biking/walking trail only 3 miles from the house. It runs for 20 miles all the way to the town of Somers. This is also the northern tip of the famous and large Flathead Lake. If you are planning a trip to the famous Glacier National Park, there are many other exciting activities along the way. Everything from ziplines, hot air balloons, helicopter rides, mazes, and much more. I would highly recommend checking out the Montana Vortex, where gravity defies the laws of physics. Also, being that the house is fairly close to Kalispell, you always could spend the day exploring, shopping, dining, and enjoying all the city has to offer.

Winter Activities
There are two major skiing areas in close proximity to the property. These are Whitefish Mountain and Blacktail Mountain. Both are less than 35 miles away! There are also many areas to cross country ski. Other activities include snowshoeing, ice fishing, sledging, and dog sledging.

Arriving at the House
Once you turn onto Haywire Gulch, the last two miles going up the mountain is a well-maintained gravel road. Any type of vehicle will make it up with no problems in the summer months. However, in the winter, you will need All Wheel or 4-wheel drive at minimum. I would recommend either studded tires or snow chains as there are a couple steeper sections that can get icy in the early mornings before the county comes to sand the road for the day.

Parking and Entering the House
There is plenty of parking as there is a large front parking area and a circle drive. Can easily fit a least 10 cars. Once parked and ready to unload, you can either go up the small steps or the handicap ramp to get onto the private deck. The house has an electronic keypad. You will receive your personal code a few days before your check-in date. With this code, you will also receive specific check-in and check-out instructions. You will have the entire house to yourselves. Including the 5 acres of partially wooded property.

My wife and I are available anytime through Airbnb, e-mail, phone, or in person if the need arises. We are located directly across the street from the rental, so we can be there very quickly in case of an emergency.

The neighborhood is a quiet area of acreage properties. There are only five other houses spread out on the dirt road that leads to the house. The neighbors are friendly and like to keep to themselves for the most part.

There is only one dirt road that leads to the house, and comes to a dead end two house down from the house you will be staying in. In front of the house is a large front yard with lots of space to park many vehicles.

This location is best suited for people that prefer bring outside the city limits where they can enjoy the peace and quiet, yet close enough to town so you can make a short drive for a day or night in Kalispell. You are welcome to bring your own toys such as ATVs, mountain bikes, or boats for one of the many lakes in the area. This is a one of a kind of rental that you and your family will come to enjoy.

Great stay
Property was great, kid friendly. We saw some deer and turkeys on the property. It was sweet of the owners to have gifted us some huckleberry jam. We would stay here again.
