"Business man’s hotel I suppose. Right across from Mihara Station. Small room but well laid out and spotless. Young man at desk was very jolly and hospitable on my arrival. No view, wall of another building but it was dark when I got there and sleep was all I craved. Desk stored my bags for me after check out as I’d planned to visit Buttsuji Temple but I missed the early bus and couldn’t wait till afternoon for the next so I took a walk down to the port. Ferry to nearby islands in the Seto Island...

"After a day biking in down pouring rain, the staff greeted me with hot tea and offered to bring me a meal to my room. "Very nice traditional Japanese hotel within 5 minutes walking distance from the Tourist Information Center if you took the public bus. I stayed in a Japanese style room with ocean view and slept on futon laid on tatami. Dinner and breakfast were included in the room rate, and the food was pretty good (kind of in fine-dining style). They have shuttle bus service from and to Fukuyama Station so be sure to take advantage of it. The welcome drink that they serve when you check in was nice."
