"Loved that the hotel was low key and relaxing. Older yes, but enjoyed the stay. Only ding was that the shower valve needed adjusting. We had hot water in sinks, but not in shower. Brrr. Nonetheless, for an overnight stay, it was lovely. Will stay there again. ♥️"

Beautiful landscaping. You can tell they take pride in the rental home. It’s was quiet and laid back for my husband and I. Maid service was awesome. The property has good potential and it appears they are working on improving the overall facility with some remodeling. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. "We had a good stay at Magic Skies. The property seemed to have a nice atmosphere with the different spaces and room themes though there were some areas undergoing maintenance at the time of our stay. We didn’t end up having the breakfast service offered but it seemed reasonable. Though overall was an enjoyable stay with a good location."

"I stayed at Aaron's cottage for two nights and it was a great experience. The cottage was cozy, equipped with all the amenities you could need. It had AC, fans, hot water, a comfortable bed, a kitchenette and full bathroom. The place is easy to find and there is a nice beach within walking distance. The place is ideal for staying in the Hilo area or for day trips to Volcanoes National Park, or drive to the top of Mauna Kea (4WD required). Several great local restaurants as well as supermarkets...

"Beautiful house from the mid-1930’s filled with wonderful artifacts and Hawaiiana. Nice kitchen area for in home cooking - pots pans rice cooker etc- Comfynooks for relaxing- great wrap around deck with lounge chairs and a dining table! The garden is lush and creative. There are many cocqui frogs at night so if that bothers you, there is even ears plugs! Our only negative was that due to a plumbing issue my husband could not soak in the tub (for his degenerative disk) altho the shower worked...

"Raul & Stefanie are excellent hosts for this peaceful, clean and comfy one bedroom. Firm and comfortable bed and a lot of space in the livingroom and dining room area. Lots of amenitiesand on-site parking. Quiet and safe neighborhood within 10 mins drive to UH Hilo and quaint Hilo town. "

"Arnott's Lodge is a quiet, cozy home away from home. The staff were so friendly. We stayed in a studio. Parking was right outside your private entrance so very easy to unload luggage. The studio had air conditioning, a large kitchen island, a 2 burner stovetop, mini fridge, toaster, microwave and utensils. It was so nice to be able to cook our own meals. The private bathroom had a large shower. The bed was our favorite part. Firm but oh so comfortable after a long day of exploring. The beach is a 3 minute walk down to the end of the road. It's a tiny beach entrance and was never crowded. This lodge is extremely close to the Hilo airport and it can be very loud when planes are landing so be aware if you are a light sleeper. We will definitely be staying here again when in Hilo."

"The Thomas Guard house is a gem in Hilo. The location is perfect - not in the middle of the city but close enough to walk to local restaurants. The beautiful grounds, the waterfall, the river running through the backyard, they all added to the charm. The house is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. Charlotte has thought of all the details to make this a wonderful place to stay. It was a perfect way to unwind from an otherwise busy life. "
