"This hotel with its interior architecture and lighting design had a very post modern/futuristic, Ex Machina vibe. Which I loved! The staff were great. And I was very happy with my one bedroom unit. The amenity of the public bath was the highlight of my stay. I couldn't wait to go every morning and see the mini zen garden with sun shining through the sky light. As that was the focal point because the public bath was usally dark with low dimmed sconce lights. Will love to stay in the other...

"Loved the Celestine. The facilities were spotless and the staff were so lovely. The location is amazing as well. We did stay in one of their larger rooms but would be happy to stay here in one of the smaller rooms because the staff were so great. "

"Beautiful and comfortable Ryokan. Super comfy beds, serene rooms, great water pressure and thoughtful japanese breakfast. Easy walk to main part of Gion, and well connected by taxi/uber to all of Kyoto. Highly recommend!"

"Gorgeous little hotel, very clean and delicious Japanese breakfast. Great amenities with tea, coffee, luggage storage, toothbrush, hairbrush, shaver etc all provided. Great location to train station and Gion entertainment district. "

"Spacious room, it allow you to experience the Futons if you want or sleep on a bed. Walkable to a bunch of temples and shines as well as shopping. The washing machine was a nice touch and allowed us to wash some of the dirty clothes piled up during the trip."
