"We loved Casa Gardenia, especially the kindness and friendliness of the family proprietors. We had a morning checkout prior to a midnight flight back to the US, but when I felt ill later (altitude plus maybe some suspect shrimp at dinner), they lent me a room, gratis, to lie down in all afternoon while the others went out in search of the Basilica and artisanal chocolate. "We had an amazing time in Quito staying at the hotel. Lovely building with interesting furniture and art. Bedroom was comfortable and extremely clean. Lovely bed, excellent views . Shower was hot and hotel provided us with a heater when it got chilly. David the manager and he's partner pierrina are very helpful. We were met at the airport by pierrina, the transfer was easy. "Great location in historic Quito with excellent service. The free breakfast is wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay here. However, it would be nice if the wifi worked a bit better in the rooms further away from the common room area and if the hot water was reliable. We took a handful of icy showers. "
