"Loved our stay in this fantastically converted hotel with so much history and character but with some really cool modern touches too! Lovely comfy bed, good bathroom, loved the very modern heating controls. Friendly efficient staff - I really felt welcome here. Loved the location and the restaurant and the in house brewery! "Very clean and modern, breakfast was really good with many options. We did have a problem with the air conditioning as the weather was really cold but the heating didn't work. We informed reception who reset the air conditioner 3 times to no avail. In the end they gave us a portable oil radiator which did the job. Staff were pleasant and helpful especially the young lady who worked the bar in the evenings. very happy and pleasant."

"The perfect hotel for my husband and I. On the quieter side of town but within 2/3 minutes you are right in the busy area with lots of eateries and shops. The hotel was very clean and our room was immaculate. Our room was opposite the elevator and we were worried about noise but no need. The room was very quiet even when staying over the busy weekend. You need to request service to clean the room and we just clicked the button on the touch screen, when we came back one afternoon the room had fresh towels and the bed made. The pool was also lovely and very clean. It gets very very busy with children but we still managed to find space to sit and read. I do think the staff could check on the behaviour of some of the children. A boy was left unattended by his parents and he was throwing a ball everywhere (hitting people numerous times). The staff were lovely and very helpful. We would stay again and recommend. Improvements: - As the hotel is a spa hotel I think some body/hand lotion would be nice in the room. - Children times in the pool instead of adult only pool times. I think this would fit the “spa and wellness” image of the hotel better. "
