Mike, born Lebanese but well travelled and fluent in English and French, took over this Lodge in February and now runs a superb operation. The diving is varied, of world class, and guided and taught by the expert Marcel.
The attractive island of Pemba is more fertile and ore undulating than Zanzibar. The Lodge is located in the north-west and requires a 75 minute ridefrom the small but efficient airport through delightful villages and fields and spice farms, with a final 10 minutes of pristine tropical forest with unique bird life.
We spent 4 days scuba diving and snorkelling. The latest equipment is provided on site. Afternoons and dusk need to be spent on one of the many settees, hammocks and beds that stretch on wooden decks or look out points along the beach front.
Mike is very ready to accommodate dietary requirements. The local fishing boats are wooden and under classic sail. The squid and fresh fish are excellent. The gardens are growing a wide variety of fruit and vegetables. an experience not to be missed
