I'm disappointed to have to write such a negative review, but I wanted to make sure other people's expectations could be set properly before visiting!
Let's start with the good. The property is lovely. There are horses and walking trails and gardens. The setting is peaceful and there is lots to do outside in this area!
However, our experience with the Manor House itself was very disappointing.
1. The website really focuses on culinary excellence. "Our chef curates daily breakfast offerings based on seasonal availability" and "approachable fine dining" and "timeless hospitality with modern polished service." Unfortunately, the only food offering available at this time was a lackluster continental breakfast with packaged foods and self serve Keurig coffee. They said they sent an email (we didn't receive) to let us know that they aren't serving hot breakfast, but the website still touts the dining experience as a major part of a stay, and we were so disappointed to find self serve continental in place of the breakfast we expected.
2. There was no hot water for shower. It was lukewarm at best.
3. The beds were very uncomfortable. One bed in our room was acceptable, but the other was so hard we couldn't sleep in it.
4. The room felt old and musty with bugs and mold in the bathroom.
We ended up leaving early and staying somewhere else for our last night. We really wanted to love this place; I can see that at one point it was probably great, but it could use some work.
