"The hotel is set in the picture book village of Hawkshead. The place itself is a beautiful old house with original features throughout. The rooms are a good size with really comfortable beds and are pet friendly. The village itself is beautiful, with several different places to eat and within walking distance of Ambleside (6 miles). "Good sized room with safe, hairdryer , tea and coffee making, robes and slippers. Enjoyed the spa after a good walk. Quality breakfast. My only negative was the bed was too hard so I didn't sleep well. My friends in other rooms found beds ok so personal experience. There are some electric car charging facilities in the car park. "
