This was a perfect place for us! It is just up the road from Club Med and a three-minute drive to the marina from where the ferry to North Caicos departs. It's a 15-minute bike ride (the house comes with two very nice bikes) or a four-minute drive to beautiful Leeward Beach. And about 8 minutes, near the Ritz-Carlton, there is a handy shopping area with a good Mexican restaurant and an ice cream shop next door. The grocery store is a few blocks away from that.
We had a full week at Bryan's place. We only used one of the bedrooms, but it was spacious. Both bathrooms were nicely done, and it came with plenty of towels, etc. The rest of the house is open-concept: the kitchen, office space, dining table, and family room are in one enormous room that leads to a private outdoor patio where we ate breakfast each morning.
We do our own cooking when we travel and were pleased with how well-stocked the kitchen was. There are two refrigerators, a microwave, and a nice gas stove. Three new AC units kept the house very comfortable during our stay, and we never ran out of hot water. What appears to be a new washer and dryer are out on private back patio, as well as a garden hose with a sprayer that we used each day to rinse off our dive gear. It also had several lines for drying swimwear. Great set up!
We had no problems with internet access. Wifi bandwidth was plentiful--no issue with two of us streaming multiple shows. The TV was ROKU based (which I prefer) so a few times we enjoyed winding down after a full day in the sun by streaming our go-to show. My wife used the office space at the end of each day to check in on the status of her lab.
A few things to note: Like Cayman, Turks and Caicos is an arid island. You won't find much in the way of green lawns, and all but the most lavish homes have stone or gravel yards. Bryan has a ton of greenery in pots around the place which gives it a lush look. There is even some sugar cane (or what looks like sugar cane) growing near the back patio. And finally, the house is at the tail end of being renovated. To be clear, there was no construction happening while we were there, but if you look, you'll see a few remaining items that Bryan is working on. That said, this work-in-progress did not detract from our enjoyment and our appreciation of the house. We loved it!
If you're considering it, take it. I highly recommend Bryan's place, and I hope we're lucky enough to snag it next time we're back in the area!
