What does it take for an artist to design such an extraordinary 'public housing'? And come to think of it, I must have moved out if there were countless tourists popping around my home everyday.
View over Vienna from the south tower of the St. Stephen's Cathedral (St. Stephansdom). You have to climb 343 steps up a very narrow spiral staircase to the Türmerstube, from where you can enjoy this view over the roofs of Vienna. Entrance fee was 4,50€ in spring 2015.

You cannot miss the St. Stephen's Cathedral in Wien (because it's huge).
The Staatsoper (State Opera House) offers free tours during the day. It's totally worth the time (and cost) to enjoy the intricate details without the clutter of audiences.
