"This hotel is a hidden gem! I don't think you can get better conditions (swimming pool, saunas, steam room, lovely breakfast) and frendlier staff for the price. It's true that the furniture and decor are a little old-fashioned, but everything is sparkling clean, beds are comfortable, and rooms have huge balconies as well. Staff members are friendly and the morning breakfast was quite good. It was a hot day in Steyr reaching near 27-29c, and the room stayed warm till evening. "We stayed at this Gasthof because we were visiting Linz and waited too long to book. I'm happy we discovered this location - the countryside is beautiful and the overnighting was convenient and comfortable. The breakfast was definitely the best part :) The room was clean and comfortable, no complaints about the service. We did notice a bit of commuter traffic on the weekday morning, but it was not bad. If you can ask for a room near the back, you might not notice at all. Again, no complaints....

not good for EV owners

"good: got a nice upgrade, good breakfast, good area, close to city center. inconvinient: we were there with an electric car, there are 4 chargers in the parking, but the parking is public so you only get 4h to charge then you either start again or move the car, i undersant that is good so everybody gets a spot to charge but when you arrive in the evening and want to sleep to go after 4h to restart charching and then again after 3h to move the car you don't get much sleep. or you do as i did pay extra for not moving the car, all night there was only my car so it was a little bit dumb to be charged for not moving."

"Pleasant old style hotel right in the main square - good breakfast in a pleasant sunny room. Lots of places to eat. Access from the Hauptbahnhof is by tram - any tram goes to Hauptstrasse. If you are in Linz to see the town itself, stay here. "
