The stay was alright, accommodation were clean and adequate. Hotel’s room air conditioning was down all weekend and it didn’t come on till 45 minutes till check out. It made the stay very uncomfortable at night and during the heat of the day. Other than that the hotel was fine.

Room was great, lobby bar and bar tenders were great. The downstairs restaurant was difficult to find [no signage anywhere] and while we had a good dinner, breakfast was a no go, took forever to get seated and then no one too our order. Had cheaper and better breakfast at local place down the street. They should have live music at the upstairs bar. We had a great ocean view, but you have to book ocean view! If you don't, you'll likely be in a room that faces one of 2 closed hotels that look like homeless people are in them. It's quite sad that those properties are in disarray.

What I liked ... The staff was awesome and accommodating, the room was very nice, the facility was clean, the balcony view was beautiful, the grounds were pretty, the daily drink tickets were amazing, and it was nice that there was parking space available so we could avoid the valet parking fee. What I didn't like ... We didn't know that we had to ask ahead of time for our room to be cleaned (it would have at least been nice to be told), the pool was rather small for the size of the site, the area was a bit sketchy, it would have been nice to allow us to use the drink tickets on mocktails, the parking lot was atrocious (at the very least, the potholes should be filled), the water in the shower never got hot (at best it was lukewarm), and a big negative is that there were no diet drinks in any of the vending machines - there should have been at least one choice. Overall we had a nice stay in Hilo and I would probably stay there again.

My wife and I stayed 7 days and it was a great experience. Top notch staff. Accommodations were nothing fancy but who goes to Hawaii to stay in their room. Everything was clean and felt safe. The property was beautiful with breathtaking views of the water and mountains. Just prepare yourself that if you stay in Hilo it will rain a lot, but rain typically passes quickly. At least that was our experience.

It was very family friendly. There was mold around the bathtub but overall very clean. Everyone was kind and wonderful. It was very convenient to travel to all the major tourist destinations on that side of the island.
