This tour was one of the highlights of my experience in Beijing, China. On our first stop of the tour, we've visited the Beijing Zoo and encountered beautiful Giant Pandas. We then headed to the Summer Palace and explored the beautiful and breathtaking royal gardens and structures. After the tour of the Summer Palace, we then did a simple lunch. The food was so, so. Our 4th stop was at the Pearl Factory where they explained how they cultured and farm fresh water pearls from fresh water oysters with a live presentation on how to extract the pearls from an oyster... we even got to take a pearl after the extraction for a souvenir for free! After the presentation we were lead to the jewelry show room where they had a huge selection of beautiful jewelry for purchase. The clerks at this particular Pearl Factory were not pushy at all and were very kind. If you don't want to buy any jewelry, that's entirely up to you, it is optional. After the Pearl Factory, we headed to the Lama Temple.
