Marmot's Meadow Chalet: Tranquil 14th Fairway Escape

Tucked amidst firs, lode pole, and ponderosa pines, this 2-story, 5br/4.5ba rustic chalet in the Nicklaus North Community backs up to the 14th Fairway of one of the greatest golf courses on earth. Just minutes from the charming, euro-style resort village of Whistler, BC, and Whistler Blackcomb Ski Resort, this chalet is the ideal golf/ski getaway for large groups; it sleeps 10 guests.

Neighborhood:

This is the setting that inspired the great Jack Nicklaus to create a golf course as unique as himself. This par 71, 18-hole course winds along a gentle valley floor offering you a spectacular setting as your golfing skills are tested to the fullest. The golf course is open May-October. Please check the course website to book a tee time or find more information: Nicklaus North: Golf Course Information - Whistler Golf in British Columbia Canada near Vancouver

Winner of numerous awards since its opening in 1996, Nicklaus North has played host to events such as the Skins Game and the Shell's Wonderful World of Golf, welcoming some of golf's biggest names such as Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, Ernie Els, Greg Norman, Fred Couples, John Daly, Vijay Singh, and Stephen Ames to name a few.

Nicklaus North Community is a gated, private neighborhood nestled on the south end of Green Lake. This master-planned golf community includes the Clubhouse at Nicklaus North Golf Course and a five-star restaurant, Table Nineteen, which offers event space, fine dining as well as a lakeside patio.

The picturesque, euro-style, pedestrian-only, resort village of Whistler is just minutes away from this chalet. Boasting an endless array of shops, fine dining, cafes, bars, and legendary apres nightlife, the village has a unique energy and a year-round atmosphere that is the envy of resorts around the world. www.whistler.com

Whistler Blackcomb is the largest ski resort in North America. It has the greatest uphill lift capacity and features the Peak 2 Peak Gondola for moving between Whistler and Blackcomb mountains at the top. With this tremendous capacity, Whistler Blackcomb is also the busiest ski resort, often surpassing 2 million visitors a year. BC Canada Skiing & Snowboarding | Whistler Blackcomb

This Nicklaus North Whistler Chalet has self-check-in with an electronic keypad. Guests will receive a unique code prior to check-in. This code will expire at the end of your stay.

Nicklaus North is a community of homes centered around the Nicklaus-designed 18-hole golf course. Nestled on the south end of Green Lake, this tranquil, private neighborhood boasts majestic lake and glacial mountain views. Nicklaus North is the first golf course to which Jack Nicklaus gave his namesake; presumably, because it was designed with such reverence for the natural environment nestled between Green Lake and the River of Golden Dreams.

This spacious chalet offers 3,400 sq ft spread out over two levels. Upper and lower living room/family room make this home perfect for multi-family vacations. Four of the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms; also making the chalet optimal for multi-couple trips, family reunions, ski groups, girls' weekend/guys golf trips, corporate retreats, masterminds, etc.

The convenient location is an easy 5-min drive to the base of the mountain, or catch transit that picks up and drops off right outside the development. Other highlights of this chalet include; an open design chef’s kitchen, a wood-burning fireplace, a gas BBQ, huge deck with Adirondack furniture, lower patio with private six-seater hot tub, balcony overlooking the golf course, serene forest and golf course window views, a mud room for boots/skis/gear, and a 2-car garage. Enjoy WiFi, laundry, central heat/AC, and driveway parking. This chalet has all the charm of a quintessential, rustic, mountain cabin, and convenience to the very best of Whistler.

Living:
You’ll love the exposed wood, rustic décor, hardwood floors, large windows, and vaulted ceilings. Comfortable and welcoming, the main floor features a great room with a large, stone, wood-burning fireplace, and several comfortable sofas and oversized armchairs. Details such as a rough-hewn log-pine fireplace mantle and sturdy knotty pine furniture give this chalet an authentic, log-cabin ambiance. After a day on the slopes, come home for hot cocoa and enjoy time with loved ones around a crackling hearth fire.

In addition to this main floor living area, the lower level of this two-story home has a cozy family room with wall-to-wall carpeting, a built-in entertainment center with TV, plush loveseats, and oversized arm chairs the color of mountain lupines. This is a great spot to cozy up for family movie night.

Kitchen/Dining:
The bright and sunny open-design kitchen has a wall of windows overlooking the green boughs of a pine forest. Enjoy polished hardwood floors, French cream color fine cabinetry, granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances including a large fridge, gas range, oven, dishwasher, microwave, and double basin sink. The large kitchen island has granite countertops, a bar sink, and breakfast bar with stool seating for three below stylish, minimalist pendant lights. Perfect spot to sip your morning late!

There’s plenty of space in this chef’s kitchen to prepare home-cooked meals that will nourish your whole group with local cuisine. For breakfast, whip up pancakes with pure Canadian maple syrup and peameal bacon. Pack picnic sandwiches for lunch on the slopes. For dinner, bake a Tourtiere, or grill some fresh veggies from the Whistler Farmers Market, as well as salmon and arctic char fish. Sliding glass doors off the kitchen open out to a deck with a large, gas BBQ grill.
Just off the living room is a farmhouse-style pine dining table with seating for eight below a rustic wrought-iron chandelier. Gather for family-style meals and make memories that will last a lifetime.

Bedrooms/Bathrooms:
This spacious chalet has five bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms. Four of the bedrooms have ensuite full bathrooms. (The bedroom with bunk beds does not have an ensuite bath, but next to this bunk bedroom is a half bath.) This chalet sleeps eleven guests total. Bedrooms all have wall-to-wall carpeting and are furnished with luxurious mattresses, sumptuous linens and bedding. Ensuite bathrooms have plush towels, toiletries, hairdryers, etc.

Primary Suite: Main (upper) floor. The Primary Suite has a King bed with a beautiful hardwood headboard, matching nightstands with elegant, adjustable reading lamps, a bureau, and oversize armchair. This large primary suite has a vaulted ceiling, a wrought iron chandelier, and plenty of sunlight from windows and sliding glass doors that open out to a private balcony with forest and golf-course views. The large ensuite bathroom has an oversize soaking tub, walk-in, glass door shower, and double-sink vanity with plenty of cabinet space.

Bunk Bedroom: Main (upper) floor. The children’s bunk bedroom is just down the hall from the primary suite. The bunk bedroom has a twin over full bunk bed with ladder, a bureau, nightstand, and beautiful window views of the pine forest.

Guest Bedroom #3: Lower level floor (downstairs). Bedroom #3 has a Queen bed, matching nightstands with reading lamps, and a large closet with mirror doors. Bedroom #3 has an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in, glass door shower, and a single-sink vanity with plenty of cabinet space.

Guest Bedroom #4: Lower level floor (downstairs). Bedroom #4 has a Queen bed with a wrought iron frame, matching nightstands with reading lamps, a bureau, and window views looking out to the Golf Course. An ensuite bathroom with 4 pieces.

Guest Bedroom #5: Lower level floor (downstairs) Bedroom #5 has two twin beds, one nightstand with reading lamp, a chair, and window views of pine forests. Ensuite bathroom with 4 pieces.

Outdoor Amenities:
Out on the large deck, breathe in the pristine mountain air. You’ll savor views overlooking the gorgeous golf course and pine forests. Relax on Adirondack chairs to enjoy starry evening skies. The chalet backs up to Fairway #14, but the property also has a buffer of dense pine forest. Plenty of privacy and serenity here.
The lower deck has a covered sitting area, as well as a bubbling hot, six-seat hot tub. After a summer day golfing, or a winter day on the slopes, relax at night with a dip in this soothing hot tub. The alpine fragrance of spruce, cedar, and ponderosa will restore your spirit. The music of mountain wind whistling in the pines will lull you to sleep.

Our friend group stayed here for this year’s ski trip and we loved the spot. It was a huge house that fit all 10 of us easily. It had a great location which was close to the bus stop and a short drive to the slopes. Martine was super helpful and responsive which made our stay easy! Great space, great location
We were a group of 8 guys that do an annual ski trip to Whistler. This home was fantastic as it slept us all very comfortably, ample space to spread out and relax and a good size hot tub to rest the body after a hard day on the mountain. Kitchen was very well equipped and spa is and dining room sat us all which was great. We cooked for 8 guys and kitchen was fully equipped with cooking utensils and such. It is a quick 5 min drive or cab to the mountain, very easy access. Everyone had a great experience and enjoyed their stay!

A quiet retreat close to everything!
We had a great time. My two 20-something sons and I take a yearly ski trip, and we had never been to Whistler. My 80-something mom and my 50-something brother -- both non-skiiers -- drove up from Seattle and stayed with us. Five people, five bedrooms, and a really great trip. The property is beautiful and comfortable. It's just a short ride from the skiing. A special call-out to the property manager. There was a mix-up and the property was not yet ready when we arrived. Marie responded immediately and she went the extra mile to make sure we were happy with the outcome. I highly recommend this property!

Perfect location and beautiful property
The house has all the comforts of home with room for everyone to relax. We enjoyed cooking meals in the large kitchen and visiting around the island. The hot tub was well maintained and perfect for a soak after skiing. The house has ample parking on site for large groups. Just 5 minutes drive from Whistler/Blackcomb resort. A great location for a ski trip. We appreciated the owner checking in with us during the weekend to make sure we were comfortable. The checkout process became lengthly however, as we read more about the checkout expectations. We were instructed to take our trash and recycling to an offsite depot. This is not ideal, as your trying to pack to depart. This property charges and additional cleaning fee, which I believe should take care of trash removal for the guests.

Lovely property with large kitchen. No walk out from family room/kitchen area. The TV Room is on the ground floor. Master with King Bed; only one bedroom with Queen Bed - the rest have only Double beds (fine for kids - not big enough for two adults to share). Overall, very nice property.
