Wickaboag
The driveway WAS very steep and only would fit 4 compact cars. Ours trucks were a tight fit. There were several light bulbs that were out and dishwasher did not work well, also it smelled. Otherwise the house was perfect for our needs as we spent most of our days at Brimfield.

Beautiful lake front location!
The owners of this charming lake front property were easy to deal with, flexible with check-in and check-out times, and easy to get in touch with. The property has 4 bedrooms with double beds and a pull out sofa in the basement, so we slept 10 of us comfortably. The canoe and 2 kayaks were a big hit (we had PERFECT weather) and so was the fire pit (we bought wood at the local grocery store which was about 15-20 minutes away). There isn't much around, we were there for a wedding nearby, but one of the restaurants, Haymakers Grille, was right in town and served a nice diner style breakfast. I would highly recommend this spot to others who want to get away for a weekend.

Our Family Reunion at the Lake House
Evaluation of Lake House rented 8/08-/8/11 2022 We had our Family Reunion at the Lake House. We were three generations, the grandparents both in their upper eighties and the grandchildren in the upper teens and twenties. We liked the house and its location very much. Special good points were: The large deck off the first floor overlooking the Wickaboag Lake The lake right below where we could swim and boat using The two kayaks and one canoe The comfortable and homey feeling of the house The well-equipped and functional kitchen (no corkscrew however) Phyllis was readily available to answer a few questions that we had. An important consideration is that this house is not the best choice for anyone with mobility issues. As anyone in this situation knows, even seemingly small issues can be big issues for someone who is not steady on their feet. For instance, there are no railings on either side of the four steps from the driveway into the house, and there is a single big step from the main floor to the outside deck. In our case, grandmother walks with a walker. She limited herself to the first floor and deck (which has a wonderful view of the lake), needing assistance to navigate the step from the floor to the deck. It worked for our family, because we had plenty of young, strong people to help with these steps, while the younger people had no difficulty with the long, steep stairs to the lake.

We do recommend...
Eight adults spent a great time in this lake house. Owners very accommodating and live very close. Driveway is a bit difficult for low slung vehicle, but plenty of room to park cars at end of driveway (we had 4 cars). Dining table seats 6 or unfolds for 8...great place for evening board games. Lots of kitchen work space....plenty of plates, glasses, silver, blender, griddle, dishwasher, etc. Bring your own crock pot or make inquiry to owner. Air conditioners in livingroom, upstairs master bedroom and one of the double rooms, is a fan there as well, ceiling fans. House has 2 queen and 2 double-bed bedrooms....(Q on first floor, Q & 2 D on second, 1 bath each floor). Bring your own alarm clocks. Two nice porches on lake side to sit on, large gas grill. No internet hook-up (we brought our own my-fy that worked when placed out on the deck) and no house phone...cell phone service could be spotty (we had Verizon & our batteries went down while network searching as we traveled around). For entertainment, canoe and 2 kayaks to use in the large lake and channels, life jackets in various sizes, swim floats, about 30+ steps down to the lake/dock but you can do it....lounge area, ping pong table, puzzles, a few kids games, books in basement family room, camp fire area between house and lake. Large washer/dryer in basement as well. Good central location for us....Boston about 1½ hours, Old Sturbridge Village about ½ hour (well worth the trip...use your military card for admission), 1½ hours to Essex, CT for the train and riverboat trip (again, use your military for discount)....”3 hour tour” to Vermont and New Hampshire. Purple Onion in West Brookfield for gift shopping...Walmart and farm markets not far. Breakfast at Haymakers Grill...very friendly, good food, huge portions and reasonable price...fast easy way to get going on your exit day.

Nice Weekend Getaway
Enjoyed this spacious house that easily accommodated our family for my mother's 80th birthday weekend. We were able to cook for everyone, sleep everyone comfortably, and loved hanging out on the deck. Recommend this to families looking to spend some quality time together.

Beautiful view
We stayed two nights for our sons near by wedding. Although we didn’t have a lot of time to spend at the house, it would be a perfect place to just escape from our busy lives and just relax. The house supplied everything we needed. We would definitely stay there again.

Excellent!!!
This was the second time we stayed here and loved everything just as much! Only suggestion would be to offer a rowboat as fishing from the dock was not productive, though it may just have been the time of year — fish are fickle. We will be going back next year for sure.

A lovely week at the lake
My family had a relaxing week away. We all enjoyed the lake and the kayaks and appreciated the small-child life vests. The kitchen was well-equipped. The pingpong table was fun. Plenty of towels and two hair dryers also appreciated. A few items that are counter to the description or weren't mentioned: The sofa bed mattresses were unsleepably uncomfortable. The beds don't have pretty quilts on them. Four cars in the driveway fit only if small cars. The pipes knock loudly and can be heard in the downstairs bedroom.

Family weekend
We found the place "as advertised" and had a great time. We brought a small boat - had no problems getting access to the lake - and enjoyed having access to the lake from the property. We spent the majority of the time hanging out on the deck and the dock! All the accommodations were in good order and as shown.

Homey, Clean and Comfy!
Myself and 3 friends came to shop the Brimfield Flea Markets. We loved coming home each night to the lake house and it's gorgeous views. The home could use some decor updates, but that sort of added to the homey charm. Very Clean!! Would stay again.

Extremely Satisfied!
We had WONDERFUL time on this property! The kids (and adults!!) had a BLAST on the lake swimming and boating. Amazing that the boats were part of the rental and we could use them to our hearts content, without having to rent to per hour. There were plenty of life jackets in ALL sizes infant though adult. Additionally, the ping pong table was a lot of fun, as were the puzzles and books entertaining. Phyllis was a real pleasure to communicate with and was so welcoming. We had such a great trip!!!

Lovely Lakehouse
This was a very lovely lakehouse with beautiful views from multiple decks and the docks. It is located in a neighborhood, but it still felt very private with the mature landscaping and trees surrounding the property borders. We really enjoyed swimming from the dock and paddling around the lake and nearby stream. Very friendly lake community. I think pictures were accurate - much of the house is updated, but some is not. Everything was in great working order. We all enjoyed our stay!
