This is a genuine waterfront bach with its own private beach and jetty in Dryden Bay, towards the outer Queen Charlotte Sounds near to the entrance to Endeavour Inlet. It is an ideal environment to wind-down and relax, not to be bothered by the typical distractions in an urban environment. It features stunning views, glow worms, wekas, and good fishing.
It is in a remote area, only accessible by boat. The bach operates as a self-sufficient unit; and eco-bach. It has an outdoor composting toilet; a gas outdoor shower, gas fridge and gas hot water, solar panels and batteries; wood burner and BBQ for cooking; wood fired spa, a back-up generator if electricity is needed. There are no metropolitan services; it is off the electricity grid, town water supply, and telephone network.
There is a 44 meter jetty, two moorings (2 and 3 tonne moorings), and a 13 foot aluminum boat, 2 one person kayaks and life jackets available for your use.
There is plenty to do, from having a BBQ, laying in the sun, swimming, boating, fishing, and tramping. If you have your own boat, we are close to the good fishing and diving spots in the outer Sounds. There is also a platform for enjoying the view.
This is boat access only. The Cougar Line water taxi who go by three times daily, can drop you directly at the bach. Or you can use your own boat to get there.
We expect visitors to clean and leave the bach as they have found it for the next guests. There are no cleaning services due to the bach's remote location.
