But this place stood out because of the breakfast. I was worried because I’m kind of picky, but I was worried that I ate them out of house and home. The fruit, the breads, the cheese, all of it. Seriously, days of happy memories of that breakfast! "

"On a winters day it was the warmth of the unit that impressed my most, sooo comfortable - and I could adjust the thermostat if wanted. "Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Room was lovely and big. Comfy beds, hot shower, heaps of towels, coffee pod machine. Pool was great, spa was lovely. Laundry handy. Good little gift shop. Didn’t eat at Rydges as too expensive - $65pp. Hard to find somewhere reasonable to eat in Rotorua, everything overpriced and very touristy. "

"We stayed for a night as part of a road trip, and the ensuite cabin was perfect. It was just the two of us, but a family with small children could have made use of the bunks in the other room. Everything was fresh and clean, and the grounds had a nice feel. The hot pools were a bit disappointing, being just small rectangular concrete, but we just went to Polynesian Spa instead. All in all a great place and would stay here again"

"We loved the Spa pool. The guy showed us to the room and I should of got him to turn the TV on the channels. This happens in every motel we go to - or is it just us that not use to complicated technology....lol. We couldn't get the TV to work, but that was "okay" as we were tired and slept. I did ring 0 but was out of hours and left a message—never mind. All in all, we loved the room - spa room could do with abit of a wash down though."

"Second time staying here as my children (and I) absolutely love it. This is a charming property and the historical elements are so interesting. The foyer is fascinating for children with the old fashioned phone and grand piano. Excellent location, easy walking distance to the park, lakefront and many restaurants. Very good breakfast. Room was clean and comfortable and pool is lovely. "
