Historical 1850's Cosmic Cabin

Welcome, the Cosmic Cabin & Historical Tyro Mill. This historical landmark was build in the 1850's and stylishly updated in 2015 with modern conveniences and comforts. The location is ideal for easy access to all of Nelson's gems. Weather you're visiting for the wineries, breweries, wedding venues or to take in the beautiful nature of the Piney & Tye Rivers, forests and Blue Ridge. Your sure to enjoy sitting on the front porch with a cup of coffee or local wine.
The space
The space is rustic, the floors wood and the walls logs. The beds cozy and the towels fresh. Due to the nature of the property only fire in designated space and please NO SMOKING.

The living room gets beautiful sunlight and the back bedroom is cozy. The loft upstairs is original and please watch your head as you walk. You must be able to climb stairs to access the loft Queen bed.

If your unaccustomed to county vibes and nuances just a few notes. The property has the comfort of neighbors who work at the orchard near by. They are respectful and nice people and keep to themselves.

To access the property you drive through a right of way which is the neighbors driveway once parked at the cabin you feel like you are in your own space but this is not fully secluded.

Another note about country vibes is the bugs and critters, we do our best to keep the cabin spider, bug and critter free but know you may encounter a spider or a bird or a lizard. These animals are harmless and welcome a mindful relocation to the outside if you find them inside- after all the all have important jobs to do keeping the bugs down at the cabin.

There are details in the guest manual for the fire place and please don't hesitate to let me know if you need anything.

Please do not enter or attempt to enter the Mill and take only photos ans leave only footprints.

wife's birthday get away.
We had a great time even in the rain. Nice and quiet, just a short drive to restaurants, apple orchards, waterfalls and trails. Rustic looking on the outside with modern kitchen and bathroom inside. We will definitely go back.

Cozy Cabin
The lovely cabin is suitable for a small, active group of adults. It has all of your basic needs in a restored, tastefully decorated historic cabin. Bring your own food and drink. Bug spray is a must. The only downside was the skunk smell from the family living under the house. Let’s hope they move on soon.

Classy piece of history
Tasteful homely touches make this home a dive into the colorful history of the area. Perfectly located for a stay away from the madding crowd. A fisherman, cyclist, hiker, lovers, family-all would enjoy a stay in this gorgeous warmly appointed restored 1850’s log cabin.

Surprise in the Mountains
I cannot say enough about how wonderful our overnight stay was at Cosmic Cabin. The cool historical cabin is rustic on the outside and sweetly decorated and comfortable on the inside. Everything we needed was there and have the cool story of staying in an 1850s cabin! Something my kids for sure will remember for years. Thank you!!

Super cute and cozy cabin with tons of history!
We really loved our stay. Just the right amount of modernizations to make it really comfy but still very rustic. Perfect blend of the two! Beds were really comfortable; my 7-year-old daughter loved staying in the daybed. The only thing I would mention is that you really have to be ok with super steep stairs heading up to the loft - you have to be very careful. All around wonderful stay in a beautiful area. Would love to come back!

Cozy in all the right ways!
We were so happy to have stumbled upon this gem of a cabin which proved even better than pictured! The beds were extremely comfortable, the kitchen equipment couldn't be better, and there were fragrant soaps, incense, and dried eucalyptus in the shower to add to the experience. Jana made sure the place was spotless and checked in via text to assure we found the fresh eggs the next am. The only thing that would have made this perfect would be if the cabin were more distant from the road, neighbors, or else fenced in for our dog to romp around though it was a beautiful area to go on leash walks. Having a place like this to stopover when traveling to visit family will definitely incentivize us to make this trip again!

Girls cabin night
We booked a one night stay for a girls night and had such a wonderful time! Everything was perfect. The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed to prep a tasty dinner and chatting for hours in front of the wood stove was the perfect location for catching up with old friends.
