"Absolutely beautiful modern ryokan experience. Very quiet. Dining is in the restaurant, not the room, which is fine. Service is lovely by an international, less Japanese staff (needed as there are simply not enough people living on Naoshima to support the museum/tourism). We went in the summer raining season before schools let out, and it was very peaceful."

Maybe it needs to be cleaned. -A no smoking sign outside the bath/shower area - in the morning it smelled like smoke, even after closing the window. "
