Our cottage is sure to give you the up north getaway you are looking for! Whether you are the adventurous type that wants to waterski/wakesurf, or the fisherman looking for great Bass or Walleye fishing, or you just want to relax on your 100' of private sandy beach, we are certain our cottage will fulfill your vacation desires. My husband and I bought this cottage in 2016. It was remodeled in 2016, and again in 2024 which includes a new kitchen and bathroom. We have new stainless steel appliances, flooring, furniture, and beds were new in 2018. (For this reason, we don't allow pets at all or smoking of any kind at our property). Our home is situated at the end of a private cul de sac, only 15 feet from the beautiful sandy beach and water's edge. Our neighborhood offers a private park just at the end of our quiet street where you can have a family game of baseball, volleyball, disc golf, and let the little ones swing and play on the play structure. The fun you can have here is limitless! We have a paddleboat, canoe, kayak, paddle board, private dock, corn hole, a grill for your catch of the day, and a fire pit for s'mores and sitting around after a long day of swimming or waterskiing. The location couldn't be better for your up north getaway! We are less than 10 minutes to the famous Oaky's Tavern in Interlochen, less than 10 minutes to the nationally acclaimed best ice cream shoppe in America...MOOMERS. We are only about 15 minutes from downtown Traverse City. We are 10 minutes from The Interlochen Arts Academy. Close to many wineries, restaurants, breweries and about 30 minutes from the breathtaking Sand Dunes National Lakeshore. We are so excited for your next family vacation to Long Lake Cottage; sure to be filled with great memories. We have met all qualifications for the Township's approval and possess a Short Term Rental Certificate #STR22-00061.

We had the BEST getaway ever! The peaceful and beautiful setting was just what we needed. The location was great, close to almost everything that Traverse City has to offer. The cottage felt like home and had all the amenities and more that I would expect. Can't wait to come back.

Great cabin close to everything!
Thank you very much for hosting me at the cottage on Long Lake in Traverse City! The kitchen and bathroom are brand new and the decor is very nice throughout the cottage. I especially loved the covered patio for drinks and BBQ. What a peaceful spot steps from the water! Listening to the loons calling was another highlight. Comfy beds and very clean throughout! I hope to be back next summer!

We loved our time here. Our two kids enjoyed the mini beach and lake and kayaking/paddle boarding/etc. Fabulous location where you feel relaxed and away from the world but still close enough to get food and groceries and the comforts we enjoy. We will be back for sure!

Our famiy vacation went great, so much to do in Traverse City area. Jason and Suzy were great hosts, helped with anything we needed. The house is in a great location and kept very clean. We had a few barbecue cookouts, and had a great time eating, playing and boating!

Holiday getaway
We had the perfect stay at this charming waterfront property. We enjoyed all it had to offer: the outdoor patio area, the fire pit by the water in the evening for smore's, and the water gear (paddleboat and stand up kayak). The host was more than accommodating to our needs and had a sweet treat upon our arrival. Besides our fabulous stay, we left forming new friendships that we hope continue to flourish.

Great week on Long Lake!

Lake Life
The property is literally next to the lake, which makes for an incredible view. All necessary amenities and comfort for a small family. Communication was excellent throughout, and any questions were answered in a timely manner. If you’re looking to enjoy a lake with your own private beach, this is the place for you.

Relaxing retreat
We had a wonderful getaway to Long Lake in the Traverse City area. Jason and Suzy were very hospitable and provided a comfortable and accessible location for our family to enjoy the beach and lake. The stand up paddle board, kayaks and paddle boat were great for enjoying the lake. The fire pit was perfect for making s’mores and enjoying the sunset. And the Weber grill was perfect for making burgers and ribs. Highly recommend!

Great getaway
The house was perfect in every way. It had all of the essentials (which made packing so much easier), very clean, and the location was perfect. I had my three boys with me (16, 12, 6yrs old) and fun was had by all. Owners were very responsive to my questions prior to arrival. Very easy check-in/out process. Will definitely recommend this place to others and hopefully be back in the future!

Long Lake Getaway
Amazing location right on Long Lake. The hosts are nice enough to allow you to borrow their small boats. We had a great time kayaking and peddle boating around the lake. The location is also great for drives to traverse, the dunes, etc. Unfortunately, the bedrooms were a little smaller than anticipated (have to squeeze by in the queen bed room). And, more pressing, the water smelled metallic. I don’t know if it’s too much iron, but it smelled like you just handled Pennies every time you washed your hands. There was some staining on the shower curtain that was orange, and I think that may be due to the water. Since you have to bring your own towels, make sure they are ones you don’t care about because they might stain (like some of our rags did). Still had a good time and the hosts responded quickly to our questions. So, overall it was a good stay and good experience.

Great location and nice property.
The lakehouse is a converted 1950 (?) trailer and is super cute. You'll need to bring a couple of kitchen items (cutting board, smaller baking sheet, extra plates/cups) as well as additional towels as there is no washer/dryer and we used the towels really quickly. The beds are super comfy. Jason and Suzy are very friendly and attentive. The beach was very small due to high water levels and it inhibited us from having a fire as the waves crashed up all day leading to a wet fire pit so if that is a must for you be aware. The lake and swimming area are gorgeous. It is a beautiful location and would highly recommend this property.

Exactly what we were looking for!
Our stay on Long Lake was fabulous! The owners were incredible hosts and welcomed us from the moment we pulled up. They were available to help with any question or concern that we had and even surprised us with some special treats. The cottage is perfect. Cozy, comfortable, clean, quiet, and right on the water. Exactly what we were looking for! The lake is clean and clear and not crowded, even during the first week of August. We loved swimming, exploring the islands in the lake, fishing, kayaking, and paddle boarding, and it was great for our small kids. It's only a short drive to Traverse City for restaurants and shopping plus we had a great half day at Sleeping Bear Dunes. Definitely worth the short drive! Overall, it was an amazing week, and we hope to return!

Awesome lake cottage experience
We love this lake cottage option. 2nd visit to this location. two bedrooms with king and queen beds. sleeps two couples comfortably Has pullout bed for additional sleep space. Right on Long lake, water reflections in the morning as the sunrises in the cottage. Gives us a taste of summer on a lake. The biggest attraction for us is the fire ring on the sandy private beach right outside. We have fires each night under the stars, relax and enjoy. Also a covered outdoor porch, if there is a passing shower. Plenty of outdoor space for family and freinds to enjoy. Rental was easy, property owners communicate quickly and answer any questions. Will stay at this location again when visiting the area.

Toes in the sand, Hiddem gem!
We could go on and on, so we’ll start with this: the family is wonderful. They live in the back house on the property, cottage is right on the waterfront. There was a few minor things that had to be addressed but those were taken care of right away by Jason and Susie. The cottage is exactly as described and we had a wonderful time. We had family and friends come and go visiting us, enjoyed many fire pit nights, beautiful sunrises drinking coffee on the beach, bbq’s, played cornhole, paddle boarded and kayaked around the quiet inlet on the Peninsula where the cottage is located. The covered patio was an awesome place to eat dinners and play cards. Henrick, their son rents out their pontoon boats and jet skis for use right there. Literally everything you need to enjoy Lake Life. Grocery stores, Moomers ice cream and downtown TC are all within 15 minute drive. We stayed there for just under a month so we truly got the full experience and the knowledge of the area. Susie and I became fast friends that will last a lifetime. I already miss her ❤️ I recommended my family stay in the cottage next year because of our daughter getting married up in Traverse City and they already booked it. The only thing I would recommend is to bring a few extra bath towels. Steps from the lake, this cottage will not disappoint. It’s not fancy, but met all our needs and would most definitely come back again! Marc and Denise (the Bakers) ❤️

Quintessential Lake Getaway
This cottage is so comfy and was everything we wanted and needed for our get away. The bed was super comfortable and the living spaces spacious and well-appointed. Windows everywhere provided lovely views of Long Lake and there are so many cozy corners to curl up in and enjoy the view and the sounds of lake life. The hosts were kind and hospitable without being intrusive. We had everything we needed in the cottage and the hosts provided wonderful tips for the local farmers market and even a neighborhood walking path. They are super responsive too which is always helpful when you have a question! After a few days back at home, I find myself dreaming each morning of that first sip of coffee as the sun rises over the lake and all the birds start to stir. We fell completely in love with the whole area and can’t wait to go back!

A great time!
Perfect quiet little cabin with great water access. Water was clean and lake was clear with little muckiness to it. We had a great time with our two children (2 under 4) and they couldn’t get enough of the pale boat and lake access. We will definitely be back!
