"Location: 5 mins from the station so an easy walk. Staff: they were friendly and helpful. Hotel: standard Toyoko inn so clean, and has everything you need for a nice stay including breakfast which has a nice variety so you’ll find something you like. Room: typical style for this chain hotel. Clean, fresh, with bathroom and shower unit. These rooms are the typical size which is fine.bed was comfortable. Food etc was all about 5 mins away. Plenty around the train station for people to enjoy. Hikone castle was an easy 15 ish minute walk away. The view at the castle was simply breathtaking as it looks out over the city but also Lake Biwa and it was a beautiful day so the view was amazing and it’s HIGHLY worth the visit just for the view. Castle and grounds will look amazing soon coming into spring as they have a plum orchard as well as cherry blossoms. Highly recommend the hotel and Hikone."

"This place was cool, and had an emphasis on Americanism, with President roooms including a JFK room. It was really nice to experience! We noticed lot of school kids stayed in the hotel, probably for the American historical context, or that it was just right by one of the main train stops. Either way, the people in this area are all so nice and friendly, way more thab the big city of Tokyo. Genuinely enjoyed our stay around this place, and there's a ton of food options nearby, including a giant mall. The room we stayed in was pretty big, and the hotel staff are very helpful! Definitely reccomend staying here to explore the area, and to go visit Otsu and Koka Ninja House which isnt far from this hotel."

"The location is perfect. Only a two minute walk from the station, completely covered overhead. A plaza is right across from the station. The room is spacious and quiet. Staff is professional and efficient. It was a wonderful stay."

"Comfort hotel is always the best no frill hotel available to when visit Japan. It doesn’t have a lot of bell and whistle like other hotel, but it always have reasonable size room and hearty and healthy breakfast to keep you going when travelling around Japan."

"The hotel's reception area is situated on the fourth floor, and parking is available in a separate building, which may be inconvenient for guests with a significant amount of luggage. Despite this, the hotel is exceptionally clean and well-maintained, offering amenities such as a coin-operated laundry, ice machine, and complimentary coffee."

"If you are looking for a remote lake get away in northern Otsu this is ideal. This location suits the out door adventure types who want to be away from Otsu city. The lake was an amazing place to swim. What also would be a Great Lake side party atmosphere and relaxation with a group of friends. Amazing cleanliness despite the overall facility being quite old. However rooms and common room air conditioned which was a life saver in the hight of a Japanese summer. The Hostel is not located near any shops and not close to the train station so be prepared to do some serious walking or better rent a bike whilst you are there."
