"Only 2 staff members were present during my stay. One of them didn't speak English or Japanese, making communication very difficult. The rooms had no TV or furniture other than the beds and a single nightstand. I don't mind simple, no-frills hotels. But for the price - over $50 a night - it simply wasn't worth it. "We are so pleased to have stayed 7 nights at HIRUGI. The staff helped us prior to arrival with car rental and restaurant reservations (we don't speak Japanese). The lady of the house is SUPER hospitable (speaks French too). So many positive aspects including tips on New Year activities taking place and a traditional dinner organized. We were the only couple there most nights, few other guests during our stay, so we mostly had the place to ourselves. We would definitely stay again and recommend...
