"The property exceeded my expectations. The only complaint I have is that some of the entries in their complementary guidebook led to some wasted time due to inaccuracies. I would definitely go to this accomodation again but I hope by then they have updated their book. Also there's the apparent fact that no public onsen seem to be in the area, so you should probably plan for going to hakone yamoto (hope I spelled that right) to get access to those. There actually is a small public one near this...

"As soon as you open the door you smell the mold! This should not be a rental as it cannot be safe to stay in. You can see the mold seeping through the walls (I have pucs if needed) and the smell is terrible! Communication was difficult prior to check in."

"We had a wonderful stay at Villa Hakone Stage. The Villa itself is quite spacious (we had a family of three staying) - a welcome change from the cramped living conditions in Tokyo. The villa was clean and very comfortable. The location is right next to both the "pirate" ship port and the ropeway to the top of Owakudani. "I like the traditional feeling of the inn. The room had lots of space and the staff was super friendly and spoke english. Two point i found negative was the fact that to be able to shower you have to reserve a slot in the osen and also you will have to walk uphill from the train station."
