"The hotel is located in a very small village and is far away from main cities in the area of the Dolomites. The room was very small, the smallest we had in Italy in 10 days trip where we stayed in 6 different hotels or B&B. There were no non-smoking rooms in the hotel and the room had very heavy disgusting smell. We asked for another room and but it smelled the same. "The woman at reception was incredibly helpful. The road to Selva was closed the following day and she found suitable public transit options and let me check in early. The hotel also prepared a box breakfast as I had to leave early the following day. Definitely far above and beyond what I expected. "What a charming place! The breakfast was splendid. We ate one night of dinner board there and the second across the street at the sister restaurant. Was great to have that variety. The only drawback to our stay was the constant church bells every 15 mins and the rooster in the mornings. Be aware that the bells ring until 11 pm and start at 7 am. "Ambra Hotel is simply wonderful! A beautiful boutique hotel located in the heart of Cortina! Shopping, dining and any ski need is all within a short walking distance. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and no expense was spared in the remodeling / building. The staff are very attentive! You must stop and have Matteo, the “mixologist”, prepare a drink for you. He is quite skilled and shares fun stories. Bottom line, it’s a must-stay when visiting Cortina d’ Ampezzo. They have a sister property in Venice as well that we will have to explore on our next visit to Italy. "

Old school quality

"A historic, long standing hotel with all the creature comforts. We had a large room on the 5th floor with 2 cute circular windows with great views. Room was very quiet and comfortable (beds were comfortable, but didn’t like the 2 single beds pushed together). Breakfast was outstanding! Staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient. "
