Relax and unwind in our tastefully decorated waterfront vacation home. This single story well-kept home comes with 2 full and 1 additional inviting bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms that will sleep six for true hospitality. Two bedrooms have Posturepedic mattresses and hypo-allergenic pillows for your peaceful and restful sleep. The third bedroom/multipurpose room has queen size sleeper sofa.
Both bathrooms are conveniently attached to the bedrooms. Enjoy free Wi-Fi and comfort of watching SMART 4K UHD TV with UHD Netflix in living room and SMART TV in Master Bedroom. Fully equipped for your entire cooking needs kitchen has a lovely eating area overlooking lake. Other amenities include dishwasher, fridge, stove, and microwave. Kitchen and living room have accesses to spacious lanai and private pool. House has a garage and very big driveway as well as washer and dryer for your convenience. Roomy and airy living and dining room have sliding doors which can be fully opened to lanai on a cool day to enjoy coastal breeze. Secluded backyard has tropical garden with mango and avocado trees. In season you can enjoy fresh fruits.
The house is located in the quiet, family friendly and welcoming community of Venice Gardens. With close proximity to public tennis courts, championship golf courses, parks, schools, local restaurants and beautiful beaches you sure to have wonderful vacation.
The area is designated bird sanctuary and from our lake view backyard you will enjoy bird watching all day long. Occasionally you will see an alligator or two swimming graciously in the lake.
Bring your boat trailer – boat launch is nearby at Nokomis Jetty.
Venice, FL is the “Shark Tooth Capital of the World” and the Caspersen Beach is one of the best shelling beaches in the world and an excellent spot for finding prehistoric shark teeth! There are nature hiking trails travelling through freshwater and saltwater marshes, mangrove areas, tidal flats and outstanding opportunities for exploring and learning Florida wildlife.
The Centennial Park’s gazebo is the site of frequent free concerts throughout the winter. The Detwiler’s Farmers’ Market is excellent destination to chat with locals while you are buying local produce for your healthy and delicious meals.
Two hours’ trip brings you to magical world of Disney.
House is also close to Warm Mineral Springs. Only 15 minutes’ drive will take you to HEALING WATERS of Warm Mineral Springs also called as “Fountain of Youth”.

Property is in a great location to downtown Venice, shopping,restaurants, and beaches. We really enjoyed the Lanai and heated pool. Had a great time watching the birds and wild life.

Another Lovely Stay
This was our second stay at this property. We had a great time! The property had all the necessities and then some and the location is very convenient. Whenever we were not at the beach we enjoyed the pool and bird watching. Absolutely will plan to book again in the future.

Venice Lake House
The home was comfortable, clean and quiet. The lanai, the pool and the view of the lake were very relaxing. Our only recommendation would be to upgrade the beds in the 2nd bedroom to full size beds. Twin beds are a little small for adults or older children. Overall it was a great stay.

Amazing location and pool
What a beautiful view! We really enjoyed our stay. The house was perfect for our family. With 2 toddlers, I really liked how the master bedroom opened up to one of the spare rooms so I could keep an eye on them.. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars, is the master bed was extremely uncomfortable. We ended up purchasing a foam mattress topper which helped a lot. Thank you for letting us stay. Hopefully, we will he back soon.

The house was Ok. The furniture is old and the house is in need of repairs. TV was spotty which frustrated my husband. The orange plastic fence around the pool killed the vibe. It just needs comfy furniture that will fit a group of four and good internet and cable. Just a little TLC and it would be a great place.

Birds!
This rental is on a bird sanctuary. If you’re a bird nerd, you’ll love this place. I would highly recommend bringing binoculars for bird watching if that’s your thing. Lots of bird books around the house for reference. This house is located in a residential area rather than tourist area. It was close to everything via car. It was wonderful to have the private pool to relax at the end of a busy day.

Clean and comfortable
The home is older but was clean and comfortable and the owner was very responsive when needed. Venice is a great place and this house is close to everything. Unfortunately hurricane Ian destroyed the pool cage and it's awaiting installation which friends have told me takes months. It's no fault of the owner but that took away from the outdoor enjoyment. Some new lounge chairs for the lanai would also be helpful .

I discussed our concerns with the owner and VRBO support when we refused to check-in upon arrival. There was hurricane damage to the lanai. The pool was filthy. I would not recommend staying at this property.

We have had lovely vacations at this home for February 2020 and February 2021. We are very disappointed that the owner leased the home for Feb 2022 to another party, knowing that we love this home and look forward to staying here each February. It would have been nice to be given the opportunity to lease before he pursued other parties.

Whispering Lake House
The location of the house was a short driving distance to all the really great beaches, Downtown Venice and great restaurants. It is a 5 to 10 minute drive to Sharky's and 15 to Venice Beach. It was relaxing to come home and jump in the pool. Floor plan on the house works really well for other guests. The owners were awesome to work with and if you had any questions Greg responded quickly. What I would suggest to the owner is the curb appeal on the house needs some attention. Pool issues
We selected this property primarily based on the pool and the photos of the pool vista. When we arrived we found the pool heater out of commission and the pool shelter removed. Refunding the heating fees does not fairly compensate for what we felt was an impaired property. We completely understand the shelter was hurricane related damage. But there has been plenty of time to amend the listing to note pool is not as depicted in photos.

Not worth the stay
Overall the property was clean, furniture is outdated, but clean. Pool area was nice. Outside of property was definitely not the same as what the pictures depict. Landscaping was dead and there were dead bugs stuck all over the entrances. The biggest issue is that the air conditioning was not cooling the house. We arrived at 10pm and the inside temp was 83. We set the thermostat to 72 and there was no cold air blowing from the vents. So we decided to stay in a hotel for the night, came back the next morning at 9am and the inside temp only went down to 79. We made several attempts to discuss this with the owner, but the owner did not believe us, even though we had pictures and videos and called us liars several times. The owner was rude and unwilling to resolve the problem. We've been renting from VRBO for over 5 years and have never had such a bad experience. I'm sure the owner is going to say something negative about us in a response, but my review is based on facts.

Great location, (bird watching, iguanas, lizards etc.....)
Let me start by saying we're hooked on the Venice Florida location, have been vacationing there for a number of years now. This is our third different house that we have been staying at and must say the view from the backyard can't be beat, you're overlooking a canal. If you're into watching wildlife you've arrived at the right location, you'll find so many different birds to watch, even iguanas and lizards in the backyard. Very relaxing is the pool which really was used extensively due to the red tide infestation. We were also fortunate to be at the house when the mango tree was in full ripe stage, had mangoes every day of our stay (3 weeks). Greg the owner was very helpful with any issues we had with the house and responds very quickly. The home was supplied with all necessities for your first night stay. We had a pleasant vacation and would recommend this home for a family vacation. The reason for not giving a 5* rating was the lack of an automatic garage door opener. We had to exit the car every time to open the garage door with a keypad.

The property was a little disappointing to us. The 3rd bedroom is not a true bedroom. There was a sliding glass door between the master and the “3rd bedroom”. This made it difficult for us and our children. The pool was advertised as heated (and there was a charge for this) but it was very cold upon arrival and never really heated up to able to swim in in the winter. There were a lot of large items stored in the closets. The bed in the master was a king but very uncomfortable to sleep on. The location was ok (about 15 Minutes to beach) but the neighborhood was less then desirable for my family. Gregg, the owner, was good at getting back to us when we needed assistants. We made it work for our stay, but we were disappointed.

We were very disappointed to find out that this house was not a 3 bedroom but really a 2 bedroom house! The 3rd room is not a bedroom ( does not have a closet) but is instead a den that is connected to the master bedroom with a sliding glass door to separate the two rooms! This actual room doesn’t have a bed but has an old sleeper sofa with a very uncomfortable thin mattress on it and didn’t have bed sheets for it so we had to improvised!! The blinds on the slinging door are missing/broken so no real privacy there either! Not to mention that our bed sheets had stains on them! They were clean but had big red stains that didn’t come out after washing them. The sliding glass door in the kitchen is literally missing the handle that we actually found in one the kitchen cabinet drawer. Light bulbs on lamps were out and I didn’t feel like it was my responsibility to take care of it! This property is to me not well kept as described on the website. I think someone should check the maintenance of the house before guests arrive to make sure that everything is working and in order!

Great Location and View!
Cute house that felt spacious and open with the sliders to the lanai and pool. Loved the privacy fences and the kids were in the pool ALL day and ALL night. Close to public beaches and eating options. Host was responsive to a small issue with the fridge and had a back up on hand in the garage which was helpful. It would be helpful to have understood the layout of the 3rd bedroom being just off of the master bedroom but it all worked out fine. Thank you for letting us stay in your home!

Perfect Getaway
My family very much enjoyed our stay at this property! The house had everything we needed and we enjoyed the pool and lake very much. Outside by the pool enjoying the view of the lake and all of the wildlife was the perfect spot to drink our morning coffee. Quick drive to local beaches and food/grocery shopping. Great spot! Hope to visit again next year.
