About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire cabin to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Sage Hill Cabin Hocking Hills/Tar Hollow St.Forest

Walking distance to Tar Hallow State Forest, 30 minutes from Hocking Hills, great, spacious, relaxing, private retreat. U.S. Marine Corps Veteran couple owned - with 2 years of Super Host experience. This is our getaway that we are making available for others to enjoy. It has everything you need for a home away from home. Internet, propane Grill, several TV's, fire pit, balconies, & trails. ATV's allowed with waiver. Keyless entry, swing set by end of May.

This is a 1st Class cabin, with a rustic yet modern feel with a beautiful balcony overlooking courtyard as well as nice loft with two grand bay windows to allow nature to shine in day or night and still be completely private.

There is a hot tub and a pool table for your enjoyment as well board games.

The entire cabin and seven acres are available exclusively for our guests for the duration of their stay.

We do not live on site but we are only a text message away to answer any questions and respond to an emergency. We have a great track record of keeping everything first-class and we seek to have everything ready and available for your convenience.

Very rural and wooded area - nestled up on a road that dead-ends into a trail leading on the Tar Hollow State Forest which is a bridle/hiking trail. Neighbors are barely visible in the winter and not visible once leaves are on the trees. Right in the middle of 7 acres midway up a tall hill

Coming off of U.S. 50, head north 1.4 miles on State Route 327 going, then left and go 1.7 miles on Poes Run Road, then take a left on Skaggs Road and go .3 miles where the driveway will veer off to the right with a wood arch over it and side fences.

There is plenty of parking - even enough for a couple of trailers and several cars. There is a switch back which can be navigated best by fully pulling forward at the switch back (lots of room for this purpose), and then backing the rest of the way up.

There are seasonal bugs. Some years there are locusts, some years are Japanese lady bugs, and some years the stink bugs are swarming. We do all we can to keep the place bug free, but this is the woods and they do get in. Please, understand, this is something that comes up and is different every season.
We have simple rules:
- Put all trash in receptacles and take it out to the Rumpke dumpster can at the end of the driveway.
- Wash and put away all dishes.
- If you use the towels (especially for the hot tub) help us by washing and drying some of the towels, it can take a while.
- General area pickup of trash outside.
- Thats it, we will take care of the rest. We are thankful for you staying.

We were sad to leave.
We were truly sad to leave. We were desperate for a family get away and after looking for cabins in the Hocking Hills area for awhile, we kept coming back to this one and finally booked it and we're so glad we did. It was beautiful and clean. Plenty to do. The owners were kind and responsive. It's secluded but close enough to everything we needed. The scenery driving into Hocking Hills was breathtaking. We really enjoyed our time and I'm already asking my husband when we can go back.

Friend vacation
The place was amazing we loved the house and how it was designed and decorated. We had a blast playing pool and then relaxing by the fire an in the hot tub after a long day of walking trails. We will definitely have to stay longer than four days next time. Also the Owners are soo friendly and nice and great at communicating an everything. I did have trouble figuring out the booking but for this being my first time doing a trip and on Vrbo it all came together and can’t wait to do it again in the fall when the leafs start to change colors.

The Sage Family has a wonderful getaway in the woods. Once you enter the very steep driveway, a beautiful oasis awaits you. You are tucked away from the world, and there is everything you need to relax (hot tub, games galore, all amenities, beautiful balcony)! Amazing hiking trails 30 minutes away.

We had an absolutely amazing time at the cabin. There were so many amenities and the location was secluded and private. The owners were incredibly prompt with all communication and didn't leave out a single detail. I would highly recommend this property to anyone and we will hopefully be coming back soon!

Great week in the woods with our dogs and kids!
We stayed for a week with my teenage children and the property and the Hocking Hills area was wonderful. The house is new and everything about it was basically perfect. I highly recommend the house and the host's were great as well. We have two small dogs and they loved it, highly recommended trip for the dog lovers.

One of the Best Deals Out There
Like it says in the listing, it has everything you need for a home away from home. Internet (my son was able to work on his summer classes with no issue), propane grill (did not use), several TV's, fire pit, balconies, & trails. There is a hot tub (we used) and a pool table (got much use) for your enjoyment as well board games. Also has two video arcade games that also saw use by us. A good collection of Disney movies and others are in the main room if you choose to use them (we did). Also, as noted in the listing, this really is a 1st Class cabin. I needed a cabin that would fit myself, spouse and five adult children. This fit the requirements. Enough beds that each could have their own individual bed with the exception of the queen bed my spouse and I shared on the bottom level. The cabin has any amenity you could want and is well supplied with items you might need. Full working kitchen for making your own food if needed. The location is close enough to the Hocking Hills hiking and only a little ways to Chillicothe for any shopping you might have need of. I am putting in a plug for the Texas Roadhouse in Chillicothe - it is the best one I have ever been to. A big thanks to Mark & Stephanie Sage for letting us share in their getaway cabin. I would highly recommend it to anyone that wants to get away for a few days in the Hocking Hills area.

Great cabin
The cabin had everything. We came to explore hocking hills but loved that we could come back to a nice clean place to relax afterwards. The hot tub, fire pit, pool & ping pong table & video games kept my kids occupied & no one complained that they were bored.

Great vacation home. Relaxing and quiet, fun, and convenient location for great sites and hiking. Communication was great. Don’t forget to download your maps in advance. That was a life saver. Pool table, hot tub, and fire pit all added to a great experience!

Perfect Getaway Cabin
The Sage Cabin was great for our 3 night visit to the area. Quiet, clean and pretty much perfect for our stay. Being pet friendly was a big plus. Cabin location was ideal for us as it was close to the amazing Hocking Hills State Park and only one hour from Serpent Mound in Peebles. We also enjoyed learning the details of the early 1800's history of the Adena Mansion in Chillicothe, about 30 minutes away. All places well worth the visit. Mark was a top host. We use VRBO a lot and he was a 10/10 on the host scale. I highly recommend the Sage Cabin for both short and long one visits.

PEACE on the hill.
Sage Cabin was everything my husband and I had hoped it’d be! The cabin sits a top the hill so the view is everything in the morning while relaxing on the outdoor top deck with a cup of morning Joe! The decor of the home is very warm and welcoming, rustic with a touch of class I’d say. We got into a lot our 6 days there, drove into near towns for food, shopping and antiquing. We explored Old Mans Cave at Hocking Hills State Park, which is an absolutely must if you’ve never been. It’s stunning and anytime experience. My husband and I travel often and were sight seer’s so getting into everything surrounding us was a must. This little get away was just what my husband and I needed and Sage Cabin was our icing on the cake!

The property and home were both amazing. Everything was as listed and the hosts were very easy to contact and very thorough with arrival instructions. I would definitely stay here again in the future. I loved how close it is to tar hollow state park, we had a great time driving through the park and checking out the scenes as it was a little chilly for a hike.
