"We booked this hotel for a quick stay after a long days bus ride. At time of booking a message was sent to management letting them know that our arrival to the hotel would be late as there was a lengthy bus ride and as the expedia app explained late check in was available as per availability whatever that means. The hotel responded a little later that late check in would not be possible and sorry for the inconvenience. Inconvenience? We were only a few hours from our destination at this point...

"Beautiful rainforest property with good birding opportunity, birds song, cicadas, and frogs, but "touristy", so the natural vibe gets ruined. It seems they cater to tour groups, so not very private or queit. Have to pay for 3 meals a day but on their schedule that's too late for serious birding and not as healthy as I'd prefer. I travel solo and do not enjoy sitting by myself or wasting time I could be out finding birds sitting in a restaurant. I go ut birding before daybreak so, lunch as late...

If you want a real and authentic experience that's still safe and comfortable, I can't recommend Nereus more highly. Stuart and Jenny are AMAZING and what they've built is nothing short of an oasis. We loved our stay and will definitely be back! "

"Its own little oasis by the beach. Quiet, lovely setting with wooded paths between buildings. Food was great and staff was fabulous. Highly recommend staying here form more than just a night or two "

"We can’t comment a lot because we arrived late and left early for Corcovado. My Mom had an uneasy feeling about the place. The check in was easy and there was someone available to open the gate early when we left at 5am."
