"Good value for money. The name is very deceptive, as the hotel is on a canal that leads to an industrial harbor. The room is very large with a 5 star bathroom. The air conditioning and lighting were good but very hard to figure out, as there were no English instructions."

"Really lovely ryokan and onsen with beautiful ocean views. The futons were very comfortable, as well. It's a little outside of Wakayama city (about 30 minutes/¥3500 by taxi), but there is a nearby bus and they have a parking area if you are driving. The staff speaks a little English, but don't expect the same level of English that you might get at a larger, urban hotel. Overall, it was very relaxing and I would definitely recommend it."

"Amazing hotel with an even better view. I had a superb view of Wakayama’s castle straight from my hotel room. Of course the staff were nice and the room was clean and comfortable.
