「We loved staying here! It was the perfect base to explore the island - and great to be in nature with modern amenities. As ever the staff and food offerings were excellent, but there were signs of ageing of the property and it needs some updating in some areas. 「Spacious room but needs to be refreshed, at least painting. We had a nice sea view from the window. The staff was welcoming and nice. The breakfast was average, almost without pastries; breakfast coffee was not good, if not bad. Regarding dinners, bars and pool, we haven't try any of them, so can say nothing. Overall good, but can be better for the price. 」

「For a 4 star hotel i would say that the quality of room furnishing was below par and the bathroom definitely needed a refurb. However the location , with a great sea side saltwater pool, and only 15-20 minute easy walk to Funchal old town, was excellent and made the hotel excellent value for money, overall, at the price. Also great breakfast with full range of choices and lovely staff. A good mid-range choice and we would probably choose it for a future visit.」
