My main issue is the complete lack of on-site personnel, which raised serious safety concerns during my stay.
At 3:30 a.m., I was startled awake by extremely loud noises coming from the roof, which sounded like someone trying to break in. When I contacted the hotel via their chat system (since there was no one on-site), I was told, “We’ll send someone to take a look.” Later, they informed me it was vent cleaners hired by the restaurant sharing the property—a fact they didn’t even know until after the incident.
Being woken abruptly with no immediate reassurance of what was happening left me questioning whether I should call the authorities. To make matters worse, when I followed up the next morning, the chat representatives accused me of being disrespectful and even threatened to ban me from booking with Sonder again.
Needless to say, after this experience, I wouldn’t consider staying with Sonder in the future. If you value safety and responsiveness, look elsewhere.
