Charming 3-room (2 bedrooms) apartment in Surcuolm/Obersaxen, directly beneath the mountain "Piz Mundaun", with an amazing view of the Swiss Alps, which you will certainly not forget anymore!

Our apartment is 60m2 big and is suitable for max 5 persons (max 4 adults). In wintertime especially we recommend our apartment only for 4 persons when a lot of ski clothes need to be dried.

BIG ADVANTAGE in Summertime: the Apartment comes with a free guest card which allows you to enjoy various FREE OFFERS (chairlifts to the top of Piz Mundaun and from Brigels to Waltensburg-Andiast, free swimming pool, mini-golf, museum in Ilanz.) You can find infos if you "google" Gaestekarte Surselva (sorry, can't provide the website here). The Chairlifts are usually running between the 2nd week of July until the 3rd week of October.

BIG ADVANTAGE in Wintertime: This is a "Ski-out, Ski-in" place. If there is enough snow, a piste is prepared which starts directly in front of our house so you can go down to the chairlift on your skis (this piste is a bit narrow and steep, so not suitable for beginners). Alternatively you can drive by car to the chairlift (Valata Station, 5 mintues by car). 

There is a spacious masterbedroom with a twin bed (2 Persons), a small bedroom with bunk beds (2 Persons) and a comfortable bed sofa (2 Persons) in the living room. 1 shower/bath/toilet, kitchen, oven, dishwasher, microwave, 2 coffee machines (filter coffee or Nespresso), raclette and fondue set, water boiler, chimney, free WIFI, TV- and HIFI set, DVD Player (plenty of DVDs available) and various board games for rainy days.
The apartment has floor heating.
If needed we can provide you with a travel baby bed, free of charge.

In the basement you can find a ski room, a washing machine and dryer (needs Swiss coins to operate).

There is a parking space in a locked garage or you can also park outside.

Location description: Infos about the village Surcuolm/Obersaxen: Obersaxen is a German-speaking settlement consisting of 28 hamlets, spread across a sunny plateau 12 km long, at heights of between 1100 m and 1400 m. Flims/Laax, a famous tourist resort is about 18Km from Obersaxen. Ilanz, the "first town of the Rhine" is located about 5 Km from Obersaxen. There you can find various possibilities for shopping. You can find the next grocery store in Affeier (2km west of our village). We recommend to drive to Obersaxen with your own car. In case you decide to arrive by bus/train, there are regular buses driving to any direction. Summer: You will find a healthy climate, many different alpine flowers and about 150 Km of Hiking trails. So its ideal for hiking and mountain biking. mountain climbing is also possible. The Rhine Gorge near Ilanz – the unspoilt landscape of the "Grand Canyon of Switzerland" - offers a thrilling ride in an inflatable boat and impressive viewing points. Moreover you can enjoy 3 Golf Courses with an incredible mountain view in the nearest vicinity. Top Events in Summer: -Hillclimbing Obersaxen – a motorbiking event where you have to climb a virtually impregnable cliff face (June). -OpenAir Lumezia, a family-friendly traditional festival with camping site, surrounded by a stunning mountain backdrop (July). -Opera Viva Obersaxen – selected operas performed in the hamlet of Meierhof (July). Winter: In the snow-assured (slopes facing North -> snow stays longer) skiing area between Piz Mundaun (2064 m) and Piz Sezmer (2310 m), winter sports fans will find 8 chairlifts, 7 skilifts, 2 children skilifts, a total of 120 Km of Ski slopes, mostly easy or average, at altitudes going from 1200 m to 2300 m. Ski schools for children and adults are available. There are about 30 Km of cross-country skiing trails. The joys of winter can also be experienced by non-skiers on 85 km of winter walks and 4 sledging runs (about 15 Km).
