"We had such a lovely stay at L'Echappee Belle. The rooms are comfy, spacious and clean and the house and grounds are beautiful, with lots of fruit and veg growing throughout the grounds which our hostess Sophie uses for her excellent guest dinners and breakfasts. "The staff was extremely concerned with our well being and have offered a very nice commercial gesture to compensate for the lack of hot water in our room. Our room faced the city of Gien and the view was really great. One just have to walk accross a bridge to reach the interesting sidewalk with restaurants on the other side of the Loire. I prefer that view (Castle of Anne de Beaujeu) from the one the hotels on the other side of the rriver would have. Highly recommended hotel."

"We have stayed here several times now, as a stopover on our way to the south of France. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the service has always been excellent. "This was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. There was no one at reception when we arrived and after calling out for ten minutes someone arrived but had difficulty finding our reservations. The room was small with knobs missing on doors, staines on the ceiling and peeling paint work. The bathroom was a joke. "I had a wonderful stay here, after a long motorcycle ride that started in Amsterdam. Being able to park my vehicle on the secured premises was one of the main reasons for choosing this accommodation, but luckily, everything else ended up being excellent too. "Very friendly welcome. Spotless rooms. Secure parking. Supermarket next door. 5 minute drive to a small shopping complex with a Lidl, Macdonalds, Steakhouse restaurant etc. recommend getting the breakfast here. Good choice of food that will proper set you up for the day. Definitely recommend for a stop over "
