"When we arrived for my son's 8th birthday (he wanted a vacation where he could see a river AND a mountain) the host showed all three of my children how to catch crawfish in the irrigation canal that runs next to the property. The boys were delighted and spent the rest of our week-long stay hunting for various life forms (bugs, frogs, crabs, etc) in the canal.
