"The room we were staying in was lovely and had a fantastic view. My husband enjoyed the onsen. All in all, a brilliant hotel I would definitely go back to. I wish we would have been able to take advantage more of the amenities but we have a little baby who likes to sleep!"

"It was a nice and being welcomed experience in this hotel. Their staff are very nice and helpful, there will be free parking if you pre-book with the hotel, and there is a big bath tube open for guests for free which is a bonus for relax before sleeping!"

The views from the room was beyond picturesque, it was one of those moments when you just sip your coffee and just look at the sun riseing up out of the ocean with the volcanic looking island scattered along the cost and think this is something. "Excellent breakfast buffet. Mostly Japanese home-cooked items but some continental breakfast items (fried eggs/breads) are also available. Spa was spacious and clean. Pajamas (size large) were supplied. Walkable from the nearby Imari station, and ample parking if driving. During the peak check-in time, there was an English-speaking staff. Staff was always warm, courteous and helpful. "

"In an excellent location just a short elk further down the ryokan, views of Karatsu castle can be seen. Great place to photograph the castle with spectacular sunset "

"Good self-contained property. There was only a tiny saucepan (in a house that caters for up to 6 people) when we checked in. We contacted the agent, and while it took a bit of negotiation, they organised someone to deliver a bigger saucepan the next day - so top marks for their responsiveness. Imari (and the nearby Okawachiyama Village) is charming, and we used it as a base to explore Hirado. "

"Hotel Oriental Express Fukuoka Tenjin is a 3-minute walk from Tenjin Station, so the location is really convenient and good. The staff is also very friendly, and since there are many Korean guests, there are staff who can speak Korean. The room size is small, but clean, and there is enough space to fully open the suitcase. The bathroom is also very clean. If I come to Fukuoka again, I would like to stay at this hotel again."

Great little hotel in a great city

"A too-brief stay of 2 nights and 3 days in Fukuoka. It's a great city with a lot to offer. The room was clean, compact, and comfortable - if you are accustomed to Western-style hotels, be aware that the rooms are quite small by comparison. Everything worked well, including the ability to control the temperature. As the name implies, it is in the western part of the Tenjin neighborhood, close to lots of shopping and eating, and walkable (a little further) to areas such as the popular Canal City Hakata. Short walk to two stations on the Airport line, which takes you to Hakata Station and also directly to Fukuoka Int'l Airport - cheap and efficient. The staff were polite and efficient. Check-in was at a kiosk, with some assistance from staff. A special note about Mr. Chun, who was very friendly and helpful. He also speaks excellent English. Note: the entrance is easy to pass - enter just to the left of Cafe Max coffee shop."
