"This was our second time staying at Beyt al Salaam. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. From start to finish, the staff were friendly, welcoming, and always helpful. People went out of their way to help us. The room was kept clean and serviced. There is a restaurant that serves delicious food. The hotel is conveniently located in a lovely part of Stonetown and near to the beach. What made this stay so wonderful was the staff at the hotel who are simply brilliant. Thank you!"

"Excellent location and overall great service. A few things can be improved given the price. - Breakfast is very bland and could use improvement—fresher breads (ideally baked daily), ripe fruit (two days I was there, the fruit served wasn't ripe), better training of the chef who makes omelets; they were often overcooked; have an option for adding cheese to the omelets which wasn't available. For $17, the breakfast was wanting. - The room was musty, likely related to the high humidity environment...

"Loved our stay at the tempo b&b! The staff was amazing, especially the two men that helped us with our bags to the room. The dining room is right on the beach so you can have your breakfast staring out at the ocean. From our studio room, we were on the top floor and had a nearly 360 degree water view and we were right in the middle of the touristy part of town. The only confusing part is that you check in at the main Tempo Hotel - but they help you get your bags to the b&b which is maybe a two...

"Shoki Shoki House, Stone Town – Great Location but Noisy Night We stayed one night at Shoki Shoki House in Room 1 (Deluxe Double, Ground Floor) to explore Stone Town before heading to Jambiani. On arrival, we had to wait 20 minutes to check in as the room had just been sprayed for mosquitos. The reception staff were friendly, and the room was clean but basic, with a complimentary minibar as a nice touch. "Had a room at the very top of the building but good exercise with concrete steps. Room very pleasant. Good AC and kettle/coffee/tea in room. Breakfast included in room price very good. Prices for other meals expensive but lots of options within walking distance. Boutique attached to hotel. Overall convenient, clean and comfortable with pleasant and accommodating staff for a short stay in Stone Town. "

The Darajani Baazari gathers the most impressive non-beach features of Zanzibar. It is still the place where locals buy groceries and thus present much of their way of living. As unsanitary as it looks, the market is full of fishes and meat conserved far from any Western hygiene standard and makes tourists hope restaurants acquire their products elsewhere. It is usual to face scenes like the one in this photograph. #market #colorful

"Right on the beach in StoneTown .This hotel is unmatched for location as well as service. Friendly and caring staff who are happy to assist with all your needs. Rooms were clean and comfortable with air-conditioned, a mini fridge, and kettle with coffee and tea provided. Great pool areas which were well maintained. A charming place with lots of history. "From our first arrival we were greeted with cool towels and warm smiles. The staff is amazing!! Esther at the front desk was very accommodating on our last day- our flight wasn't until late at night so got a lovely extra late check out. The food each day was prepared fresh and most delicious! Our room was the honeymoon suite which including a private pool and the maintenance guy always made sure to clean our pool as well. Having beach access from our room was a great plus because we were in the ocean/beach a lot! This place has not seen the last of us!!!"
