A forest oasis...

Our 4-night stay at the Forest Suite just outside of Mendocino village was wonderful. It was a delightful escape from Silicon Valley, to be able to sit and look /listen/smell the redwood forest from the front deck was truly delightful. Early April meant showers the first day, but glorious sunshine and wildflowers after. A few deer came out of the woods to nibble on the grass below. The cabin was fully stocked and thoughtfully appointed; one of the best VRBO properties we've ever visited. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking a few meals, the bed was extremely comfortable, and linens were top quality and soft. We lost power the first evening (rainy) but only for about 10 minutes. But emergency lighting was available and Jen (the host) contacted us via text to be sure we were OK. Mendocino village is about 5 minutes north of the cabin on Hwy 1. There you will find a grocery store as well as a variety of restaurants, shops and art galleries. Nearby are public forest lands and beaches, so take your pick. Note: the suite is on the second floor of a cabin with well-lit wooden steps, but may not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. The bottom floor appears to be an art studio, but we saw no activity during our visit.

A Tranquil Coastal Retreat

This was a perfect stay in a quaint and cozy suite with a perfect woodland view. The decor was tasteful and all the essential amenities were in place plus bonuses like the DVD collection. You can't help leave more relaxed after a stay here and the location is perfect - close but not too close to Mendocino.

Comfy and cozy - an actual dream

This was our second stay and it was better than the first. The area is great and a perfect distance from trails, downtown, and whatever else would bring you to Mendocino. Can’t wait to go again next year!

Wonderful stay

This is the 4th or 5th time we have stayed here and each stay is as wonderful as the last. It is serene with big windows that let in so much light, even on cloudy days. It’s a short drive everywhere you want to explore. Thank you for sharing your wonderful space and can’t wait to return!

Time in the redwoods

We capped off our road trip to travel the length of the Pacific Coast Highway by staying at the Forest Suite by Mendocino for 4 nights. We loved the trail through the redwoods and the incredible loft suite, and also loved the Mendocino community. Forest Suite is so comfy and private and we even made 2 meals while there. Thanks Jen!

This is the perfect place to stay if you’re visiting the Fort Bragg area! It’s close to town, but just far enough away that you still have total privacy and quiet! We loved it!

Quaint Cottage in the Woods

This is the most peaceful get away to reconnect and enjoy the beautiful Mendocino coastline. The Forest Suite has everything you will need for a relaxing time. Jen is an amazing host and has provided a special suite that has all the comforts for your stay. It’s our top pick!

Incredible place…don’t hesitate, just book it!

It’s a magical place, starry skies, great location, eclectic vibe and the accommodations provide everything you want and need and things u didn’t know you’d want or need! Seriously, we just left and I wish we could have stayed longer! The host does a fantastic job in every way! Book it before you miss out.

Beautiful

Always beautiful to stay here. This time, the TV/Netflix wasn’t working at first, but when we notified Jen, she got back to us as soon as she possibly could (she was out of the country) to help us troubleshoot and ultimately fix the problem. I have stayed here a number of times, and it is always beautiful and peaceful. Thank you, Jen!

So peaceful!

This setting was so mesmerizing, and the property so peaceful, I had a hard time leaving to go do the activities I'd had planned. This is a perfect place to hole up and just breathe, or cozy up with someone special. You're only a couple of miles from the town of Mendocino and 10 or 15 minutes from dozens of hikes in woods, on bluffs, or on quiet beaches. Small kitchen is well stocked, bed and linens are very comfortable, and you'll spend hours on that large lovely deck overlooking the forest. If you're sensitive to light as a sleeper, bring a sleep mask. I highly recommend this property and look forward to coming back!

Perfection

My stay at the forest suite was exactly what I needed. The location was perfect inside and out. Tucked far enough away to feel like you are in your own little forest while being close to Mendocino and all it's beauty. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking to relax and escape to this whimsical locale.
