The villa is absolutely sensational, a great mix of traditional and modern. The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable, bathrooms and showers clean and contemporary. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the pots, pans, cutlery, plates and dishes you may need. Even though the July temperatures were around 35C, the inside of the villa remained cool - we did not need to use the AC in the bedrooms. The gardens are huge, with olive trees and shrubs surrounding an absolutely marvellous swimming pool that was used more or less constantly!
It’s a 15 minute walk into Locorotondo town, featuring a beautiful car-free old section with many great restaurants, cafes and bars. The nearby towns of Alberobello, Martina Franca and Cisternino all definitely worth a visit, being less than half an hour’s drive. It’s also only around 30 minutes to the sea, with some lovely beaches.
Maud is a superb host, answering any questions we had instantly and leaving many recommendations to enhance our stay. All in all, highly recommended for a relaxing, but interesting family holiday. During our 11 day stay, we honestly can’t think of anything that could have made our holiday better - apart from an extra week!
