Parking: Although not guaranteed, this home has room for approximately two cars to be parked in front of it. Leadville’s Victorian homes were historically built quite close together in the days before the “horseless carriage.” As such, parking can sometimes be a challenge. In the winter, maintaining an open parking space can cost homeowners a significant amount of money and/or hours spent shoveling. Please take these things into consideration as you plan your trip, and be courteous to your local neighbors by trying to park directly in front of the home you have rented.

Staying in the mountains offers a unique and nature-immersed experience, characterized by a rustic charm. You might occasionally encounter some of the local wildlife, insects, and small critters that are part of the natural surroundings. We recommend keeping doors securely closed whenever possible. Rest assured, we've implemented thorough measures to ensure your stay remains undisturbed by these natural inhabitants.

Altitude sickness is real. In Leadville/ Twin Lakes, the elevation can be up to 10,000 feet. Symptoms can include dizziness and nausea, so please be mindful of this. We cannot offer refunds for guests experiencing altitude sickness. If you anticipate being affected, we recommend obtaining insurance at the time of booking.

Ski weekend
Overall great house for a family ski weekend. The house was large and could comfortably sleep several people. Great location in Leadville. Only complaint is that the mattresses and pillows were older and could use an upgrade.

spring break mountain getaway
The house was super cozy and warm, especially with the fireplace. All of our family could enjoy the family room and eating area. The kitchen is a great size and very well equipped with everything we needed. I would only recommend that the steep stairs to the upstairs bedrooms are pointed out to every guest. My parents were fine in the downstairs room and our teens and us were fine going slow up and down. The signs were super helpful! We loved our time in your home.

Spring Break Skiing and Boarding
My four sons, ages 20–27, and I had a wonderful stay at Snowshire! We came in March to ski and snowboard, and found proximity to the ski resort very manageable. Better yet, being in town, we could easily walk to historic downtown Leadville for shops and restaurants. And from what we could tell, the home was of historic vantage, but virtually impossible to discern when inside, as it has been completely updated. All of the amenities are outstanding, from the comfort of the beds, to the updated kitchen and bathrooms, and the new washer and dryer. We ate most of our evening meals in, and the kitchen and dining area served our crew well. After spending our days outside in the cold, the fireplace was the perfect remedy. The management and check in process was seamless. They reached out to make sure everything was going OK. Perusing the guestbook, it was apparent there were many very happy guests, and quite a number of families that make Snowshire their repeat vacation stop in Colorado, as we certainly intend to do. I highly recommend this place – – enjoy!
