Before the visit, the owner asked us to purchase underwear for him, for which he would reimburse us. Weird, but we ignored it. Upon greeting us, he informed us that the house had been broken into with the last guests (he had over a week to let us know this ahead of time) and suggested we go to dinner in groups. He spent a lot of time showing the safe. The owner has three dogs which have free run of the property. Not a big deal for us as we are dog lovers. Until one of the dogs bit my daughter's hand. During the tour, we spoke with the owner about the dogs and he never said anything negative about any of their personalities. We called VRBO at this point to list our concerns and our discomfort in staying, and they suggested we speak to the owner. My husband tried to speak the owner and we were told he was sleeping. We all felt too uncomfortable staying and secured a different location for our stay. We packed up, returned the key and after explaining what happened, we were told their dogs would never bite. My husband pointed to the dog that did it, and she said "Well that one is old so maybe." They never warned about that dog. His wife threatened to leave us a bad review. We initially agreed to no negative review, until we learned that Julian told VRBO that he offered us a taxi and the nearest pharmacy, none of which ever happened. He is refusing to refund us, we were there less 3 hours. Proceed with caution.
