Upon arrival, the front-desk lady informed me that my room was booked for only 1 night, whereas I had booked through the Expedia app for 2 nights. She admitted that that was a mistake from the hotel, but there were no rooms available for us on that night, although my Expedia itinerary stated a confirmed 2 night stay. She advised that we could stay in a nearby hotel for 1 night, and then check in to Porta Caucasusia the following night. I must point out that we reached the hotel after a 4 hour drive from Tbilisi!
I must stress on how cold and uncaring the front desk lady was (blond lady with blue eyes). After I expressed my frustration and asked for some sort of compensation (discount, complimentary 1 night, free meal), the lady responds with "this is life", and continued with her rude demeanor.
I had no choice but to head to Spencia Hotel down the road. I would have extended my stay at Spencia for the 2 nights if they weren't fully booked, but I stayed only 1 night followed by my second night at Porta Caucasusia.
The most ridiculous part was that the Spencia Hotel staff refunded my 1 night stay at their hotel, as per Porta Caucasusia's instructions. Here, I thought that Porta Caucasusia had agreed to offer us the 1 night at Spencia Hotel free of cost. But the next day at Porta, they asked me to return to Spencia and repay the 1 night! What a hassle and poor treatment of hotel guests! Avoid Porta Caucasusia at all costs!!! Extremely shocked and will never return.
