Historic Country Farmhouse for ANY Season!

NOTE: I will be having a couple estate sales in our back shed on the property. The dates are: Oct 17-19 and Oct 24-26. The Thu and Fri of the sale dates are the busiest days. Sales close at 5:30 pm. Not as much activity on Sat.

Welcome to a step back in time! This is our "Old Farm House meets Modern Farm House". We are inviting you to enjoy the farm that I grew up on. It is over 100 years old. We have incorporated A LOT of history in our renovation, from all the decor, to telling the story of the family farm and the way things used to be. Some say it's like a museum. For me, it's a tribute to all of the hard work of my family and we hope you will enjoy that aspect! The farm has changed over the years, but the one thing that hasn't changed, is it's country charm!

This would also be the PERFECT getaway for a ladies DIY crafting vacation! I am offering hands-on crafting during your stay. Ask me for more details. Additional fees are based on projects selected.

All rooms have been updated back to its historical beginnings, from it's hardwood floors, to some original decor, but we've added modern amenities. There are 5 bedrooms. Four have full-size beds upstairs; the lower level has a queen. There are plenty of bed linens and extra pillows.
We have 2 full baths. The bath upstairs has the original cast iron tub, with shower. The lower level bath, has a walk in shower. Plenty of towels provided. Hair dryers and toiletries are available if needed.

Everything that you need to cook with is in the kitchen! Our updated kitchen boasts a cast iron sink, butcher block counter tops, coffee bar area and real barn board decor. The island is a converted dresser, which holds some of my mom’s favorite cookbooks, if you’d like to try a new recipe! There are plenty of eating spaces - one off of the kitchen and a formal dining room.

We also have a patio area to enjoy, with a gas grill and recently added a boulder fire pit on our old barnyard to enjoy, weather permitting.

There is a living room with a TV and a fun game area, on the enclosed front porch. I have all of my games from when I was a kid, for your enjoyment. That’s from over 50 years ago! We also have a video library of VHS and DVD's if you'd like to enjoy a movie. There isn’t Dish network or cable, but there are over 20 local channels. We do have high speed internet, to keep you connected and a landline phone, if you’d like to make a call using a phone book!

If you see in our pictures, that we have a quilt on our barn. We are one of 150 quilts located across our county. We have a brochure with a map, if you'd like to take a tour, to see all of these beautiful quilts! Ours is called "Rainbow Blossom".

At Christmas time, the months of Dec and Jan, every room is decorated. Because of safety issues, we just can't allow small children. I normally child proof the home, but I can't remove all the decor that I have. If you have any questions, please ask. Thank you.

If you would like to learn about the history of our farm, please let us know. We would love to tell you how the farm operated years ago. I have had nothing but great memories while growing up here. It is our wish that you will leave our farm with great memories of your own!

Please continue reading about our guest limit and guest charges. Thank you.

Other things about the farm:
(this is during the growing season)
With over 3 acres of lawn and gardens, we might have to do some watering, lawn care while you are staying with us. Please know that we will be mindful of your privacy. We are currently working on the flower beds, so not all are totally manicured, but a lot to see none the less!

We do have a farm cat that comes and goes around the farm. Please do not try to catch him. We will feed him everyday if he's around.

Even though we are located on a country road, we do have some cars and farm machinery going by during the day, during the growing season. Typically by evening, things are pretty quiet. See the pictures for location from roadway.

Great place!
Super relaxing place in the country to get away! Monroe is a really cute town and it's also very close to New Glarus. It made a great base for our family's outing to beautiful Wisconsin. Susan and her family have a really wonderful place and have put tons of effort into their families farmhouse.

We were looking for a quiet, relaxing weekend getaway and found it here. We explored Monroe and New Glarus and had relaxing mornings and breakfast in our place. Very clean accommodations. Clear that the owner takes pride in the property and grounds. Very accomodating and helpful. We had a good mix of fun and relaxing outside at the farm. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again. pride in the whole property and grounds.

Beautiful, peaceful, quiet, very clean
Quiet, quaint, very well kept and clean. There is a sense of calm, peacefulness and “home” about the place that is very therapeutic. Tons of history and fascinating stories about farm life 70 years ago. Owner, Susan, is very pleasant, kind, generous and great with communication. She works very hard to keep everything nice and clean and comfortable. Thank you, Susan! The flower gardens are beautiful! My husband enjoyed the tour of the old dairy barn too!

The garden is fantastic. My kids have a fun time relaxing and playing in the yard. We have loved getting to know Susan and Tom. Awesome in every aspect!
Growing up in the area, wow the farm brought back so many memories! Susan was there to welcome us & give the full tour & tell some farm stories. So much history & photos to take in. Family treasures I can’t believe we’re even on display! Susan checked on us regularly & made sure we had everything we needed. Stayed & told stories as long as we were asking questions. Even had a deer come out while we were having a campfire! I could go on but will just say enjoyed it so much & thank you!

FARM DELIGHT
It was a wonderful surprise that the farm looked exactly like the photos on the VRBO website. We were greeted by Susan upon arrival and given a tour of the Farm and House. We were immediately impressed and fell in love with the place. The Flowers and Garden was the perfect place to hang out and/or have morning coffee and be inspired with God's Grace and contemplate our many Blessings. We knew immediately that this was the Spiritual and Place of Relaxation we were looking for our vacation this year. We have used VRBO for our last five vacations and each place we rented was better than the one before. WE HIT THE JACKPOT WITH THIS ONE.

We were looking for a place to get away from it all, and this farmhouse delivered! The home and grounds have been lovingly restored and cared for, so we had a comfortable stay (even when all five of us were there), and we appreciated all the personal touches. Susan and Tom were tremendous hosts, reaching out on a regular basis both before and during the stay to make sure that everything was going well. The location was very quiet and also very convenient to nearby Monroe. I recommend this property highly and hope to return next time we are in the area!

Great Get Away
This home was better than I could have imagined. The care and detail Susan and Tom have put into renovating but maintaining the history of this family farm is incredible. Every room has beautiful photographs and descriptions, repurposed furniture and decorations, but still feels comfortable and like home. Susan and Tom were incredibly kind and so generous with their time when showing us around the grounds. We’ve already discussed when we can get back just to stay here again!
