When we got to the house, the house manager informed us of the daily housekeeping fees which were not listed in our contract which were significantly more money out of pocket. Great stay at Asalem

"Asalem is a great place to relax. Very friendly, great views, quiet. Problem for people that have issues with stair climbing as located on a hill and to get to rooms steep stairs have to be dealt with. Bungalows are beautiful and on 2 levels. To get to main bedroom again steep staircase. Bathroom is on lower floor so if you have to get up at night starir case awaits to get to bathroom. Besides the stairs the hotel is great. You have to take ship from Concecao 15 mins or from angra dos reis 50 mins to abraao on the island a d call hotel for boat pickup as you cannot walk to hotel with heavy luggage. The hotel boat could be better. I rate the stay as excellent as the views, the friendliness of the personnel and the hiking and beach options are really great"
