As you enter, you’ll find the open plan living/ kitchen dining area, with a floor to ceiling window offering ample natural light, and space to relax after a busy day exploring. The kitchen comes fully equipped complete with integrated appliances including a dishwasher. There is something truly captivating about the setting of this property. Guests will find themselves mesmerised by the views looking out to the front, and with plenty reason to; the views over the Loch will immediately help you to relax, enjoy the serenity, and put the stresses of the modern life behind you.
Tarbert, just a few minutes’ drive from the cottage, boasts a distillery and two hotels, all with cafés/restaurants. There are also several takeaways in Tarbert along with a bank, doctors’ surgery, post office, petrol station, two groceries and a Harris tweed shop; this is also the arrival point for the ferry from Uig. The Isle of Harris boasts some of the most outstanding scenery on the Western Isles, combined with some of the world’s most outstanding beaches to enjoy. There are many excellent walking routes and the quiet country roads are ideal for cyclists. There is also a large selection of activities available – whatever your preferred outdoor pursuit may be including golf, pony trekking, wild swimming and kayaking to name but a few. The Isle of Harris, famous for its Harris tweed, shares the Isle with Lewis to the North. The thriving fishing town of Stornoway offers plenty of shops/cafés and restaurants, and Lewis Castle in the centre is worth a walk around to enjoy the beautiful woodlands. Other activities guests can enjoy include fishing, boat trips and kite surfing, with the Isle of Harris distillery also being a favourite amongst tourists for its famous gin.
